Is Undercover Tourist best place to purchase tickets?

Hi everyone. I am going to be taking my 1,7, and 9 year old to Orlando in the middle of January and we are thinking about doing IOA/Universal instead of Disney this time, as we'd like my youngest to be a little older before we do Disney.

I think years ago I purchased tickets to Disney from Undercover Tourist and I seem to remember they were as competitive as anyone.

Is this still the case or where is the best place to buy tickets?

And is 4 days too much time for the 2 parks or does that seem about right with kids my age? Thanks in advance for any thoughts/suggestions!

I've been doing some ticket price research this week for a 2-day upcoming trip. Generally speaking, I am finding that UT is the same price as purchasing from Universal in advance (which seems really odd to me, but the numbers don't lie). I just looked up the 4-day pricing, and Universal is $282.22, UT is $282.21 (this is one adult park to park ticket). So far, the best pricing I have found is through AAA. That same 4-day park to park is $260.91. If you are a AAA member, I would take a good look at their pricing. For me, Park Savers is also a better deal, but they only list up to 2-day tickets, so would not be of much help for you if you are needing 4-day tickets.

Wow, what is UT doing this year! Used to be a huge difference in price.
I know! Seemed very strange to me. I was a little shocked to see how much Universal tickets have gone up. My last (and only) trip was in September 2010, and that time, through AAA, we got a ticket that was good for Florida and Georgia residents (I live in Georgia) that was like 7 days with park to park for like $119. This time, our two day park to park is going to be $237, through AAA. No special pricing for Georgia residents anymore I guess.

Keep in mind that UT price includes tax and delivery. Make sure to compare appropriately.

Yep, I did. I compared UT's posted price to the price in cart after tax from Universal and they came out within a penny of each other. I noticed yesterday that Universal has on their website something about a low price guarantee, so perhaps that has something to do with it.

I bought directly last year bc UT would have only saved me about $5/ ticket. I felt more secure buying direct anyways.

I plan to buy direct from Universal for our upcoming February trip as this seems to be the same or close, but keeping my eye on specials. Same with Disney tickets. I have most often bought my Disney tickets via UT, but since this trip is a split stay, staying on site at each with two park days each, not worth going to UT.

Do you have a Sam's membership? I just purchased 5 day park-to-park tickets for $254 (tax included). That was the cheapest price I could find.

Has anyone purchased tickets from Orlando Ticket Connection? I'm looking for 2-day park-to-park tickets, and they seem to have the best price on those right now - their special that ends on 12/31 is cheaper than Parksavers by about $30/person, and cheaper than UT by almost $50/person.

Is this a regional deal at Sams Club? I'm in the Northeast and a member. TIA
No, it's on their website. (I found it easier to google search "sams club universal studios tickets" than to find it on their site directly)

The price includes tax and they email you tickets within 24 hrs that you can print at home. (I was able to exchange my paper tickets for regular tickets at guest services in the parks on my first day so they would fit in the lanyards. Since we were there for five days, I didn't want to carry the paper tickets around). It says they are refundable, so that made me more comfortable with the purchase.

Can anyone advise on best way to go with buying tickets:

We are a family of 5 with one under 10 yrs. We are going to Orlando 12/29 late day and leaving 1/2 early so we could potentially spend 3 full days in parks. We were also planning one other trip to US later this year.

With the holiday weekend I am thinking we need express pass to get to do HP attractions.

Not sure if I can buy a discounted ticket and then upgrade when we get there - is that worth it like it is for WDW tix or not worth the trouble as you wouldn't save any money?

I called Univeral direct and if I was informed correctly it was only a difference of $543 for 5 Premier APs vs a 2 day P2P with Unlimited Express.

One major difference is you cannot use the Express pass until 4pm with the AP.

Appreciate all opinions. Thanks!!

Be aware that Express Passes are not accepted at the main HP attractions (Forbidden Journey and Escape from Gringotts).
