Is Tutto Italia worth the cost?

Having tried almost every TS restaurant at the world, T.I. is one of the only ones we will not try again. Gave it a second chance and both were equally as bad!

We always pay OOP for our meals and, like you, don't limit ourselves to wherever we want to eat based on cost. Last November we ate at Tutto (my bf and I) and had a very nice meal. Good food, great service, a little noisier atmosphere than I would've liked but all in all it was a great meal. Our bill (with tip) was a little over $150. I do not think it was worth the $150 (that's just food by the way) but I did enjoy our experience.

We both had Caesar salads with our entrees. They were $13 each but the best part of the meal. We both thought our entrees were just 'ok' (I can't even remember what they were).

We ate there for the first time this past September.
We didn't have a wait for our reservation, and it wasn't exceptionally noisy.
I ordered the lasagna while my wife ordered the stuffed canneloni.
Our orders did come out rather quickly, but we both realize that they prepare both of these dishes in large quantities, and "finish" them as ordered. ( I don't know about you, but I wouldn't have wanted to wait while a lasagna was made upon ordering and then baked until done) We did feel somewhat rushed, but the food was pretty good compared to Tony's. We are undecided as to whether or not we'll return, because our last trip was just the two of us, and we usually are part of a party of 8+
We'll have to see if we can get a concensus on eating there our next trip.

I think that Tutto can be a good value on the dining plan, but if you are paying OOP it is totally not worth the prices they charge. $12 for cannoli is ridiculous. We ate here shortly after they opened, and they definately had not worked out the bugs when it came to service.

It was okay. I'm not wasting meal plan credits on it this time, but nothing was awful and the waitstaff were very nice/attentive when we were there. I love Italian food and having grown up in an english/scottish household, I'm not as picky as my Italian husband. I ordered the lasagna and thought it was pretty good, it tasted like the stouffers one I make for parties. I think it was about $28 though for a small piece with no sides or salad, and I would have been very unhappy to pay that out of pocket.

Worst meal I've ever had at WDW. Sent back our entrees and reordered. Server claimed no one else in the history of the restaurant had ever done that. Chef Boyardee is better! Manager refunded our payment, and apologized for the rudeness of his server. This was in May 2009.

I agree with this from our last meal at Disney on May 9th. Didn't ask for a refund as we were just happy to get the server to finally give us the bill so we could leave. It wasn't even busy and you couldn't even find him most of the time.

I ate their last week and thought that it tasted fine but was way over priced. They also are not very helpful for people with allergies. They won't go out of their way to make you anything special.

We walked out very unimpressed and won't go back.

We did not like it at all! I had the lasagne, and it was awful. Service was really rushed, and it seemed very hectic and loud in the place.

Thanks for all the informative replies. I generally like to try things out for myself but I think the consensus is pretty clear! Seems like we will be skipping Tutto in favor of one of the other World Showcase eateries!

Please feel free to post your dining experiences after this message... I just wanted to thank everyone who replied so far.

I like to try the restaurants myself. It can be an expensive experiment and sometimes it doesn't work out, but I have to say that if I listened to all the advice on here I wouldn't have anywhere to eat.

Years ago I would come here and post my appreciation for Alfredo's. What I learned is that no one agrees about Italian cuisine. I chalk it up to 1) many parts of the U.S. have fantastic Italian eateries or 2) No one can make the Italian food that compares with what your mother/grandmother from Italy made and 3) Even if you think it's good, no one in their right mind spends that kind of money on pasta. I suspect this paradigm exists with other cuisines too.:confused3

Wow -- lots of negative reviews of Tutto Italia. Perhaps people will come to regret dumping so much on Alfredo's on these boards!

I think that Alfredo's was one of the worst meals I've ever had at WDW (both times we ate there). I think Tutto is much better but overpriced more than anything. Service is hit or miss all of the time for us at every TS restaurant (except it is more consistent at places like Jiko). And, IMHO, Italian food seems to be one of the most subjective food groups (well, it's not really a "food group", you know what I mean :) ) there are.

Well, I, too, think Tutto is overpriced. I will always miss the Fettucine Alfredo, which was my favorite entree at Alfredo's. So, I do miss it and always will!

I'm not sure if Italian is really more subjective than other cuisines. Rather, I think that this country simply has so many truly excellent Italian eateries that it doesn't take much of a compromise to invoke the ire of diners. I'm usually among the first to come to the defense of a restaurant being subjected to what I consider unfair singling-out, but I really cannot muster-up much support for either Alfredo's or Tutto Italia. Perhaps a combination of factors inextricably leads to a generally inferior experience being sited in that location. To be fair, for perhaps similar reasons, I think Nine Dragons is generally seen in a negative light (and probably any Chinese restaurant there would be, due to the same set of factors). By contrast, wonderful, and wonderfully-regarded, Italian (Palio, Il Mulino) and Chinese (Sum Chow) restaurants have been sited at the Walt Disney World Swan, over the years.

I swear, reading these replies, I must have been at a completely different Tutto, lol! I had dinner there in both Aug. and Nov. 2009 and they were the best meals of each trip. For the record, I'm half Italian and agree that no one will ever match my family's sauce... and I can't bring myself to pay that much for pasta, so I ordered salmon both times. In each case, the fish was prepared perfectly, cooked through but moist and flaky, with just enough seasoning to enhance, not cover up, the flavor. One version was served over roasted vegetables that were also seasoned just right and not at all soggy. The other version featured a bed of lentils that were divine.

As for service, it was stellar on both occasions. Nowhere else at WDW have I seen a dining room full of staff hustling as they do at Tutto; NO ONE was lolly-gagging about. Dishes, silver and crumbs were cleared promptly, but without intrusion at all, and our every need was anticipated and met quickly.

Clearly, there's a variety of experiences at Tutto; I say give it a try and see for yourself!

We ate there last evening and it was great!
We were seated right away. The service and our waiter were great.
The food was super.
This trip so far was my DH best meal mine was great also
it was our first time there
Yesterday we had dinner at Le Cellier and while very good he still liked Tuttos the best.

DH and I used to love Alfredos and I agree the fettucini was wonderful!!! We were on the DxDDp in Oct. and tried Tutto for the first time. I would not pay OOP for the mediocore food. The service was good, but nothing to write home about.

We ate here back in October and were on the dining plan. The service was good and so was the food. We ordered the lasagna and the tortelli and thought both were tasty. I've never really had an authentic Italian meal so I have nothing to compare it to. The desserts were good but expensive for the size. I think if we were to go back and not have the dining plan, we would just stick to the mains. I would probably just head over to France afterward and grab some dessert to go at their bakery.

Since Tutto Italia opened we have eaten there on every trip we have taken to WDW. Sometimes multiple times in one trip. We have never had a bad meal or bad service here. Actually it is our favorite on site restaurant. Our food has always been fresh and delicious and the service top notch! Yeah the prices are high but what prices aren't at WDW?:confused3

OP, I think you should just try it. You never know until you do!
