Is Trash and Towel Service worth it?

I am heading to OKW next week for the first time as a DVC member.
I am wondering if I should pay extra for the T and T service while I'm there. (3 nights and a party of 4 women) Do they make the beds? We are on a weekend away from the kids and housework. Paying for housekeeping seems a bit pricey for the time that we're there. If anyone has done this I would appreciate hearing your thoughts.
:confused3

For Trash & Towel service, the housekeeper takes out your trash and brings you fresh towels (takes the used ones). He/She will also replenish the coffee supply and the bath soap/shampoo items.

They do not make the beds, dust, vacuum or do any other cleaning service for a T & T service.

If I were in your situation, I would not pay for it - not worth it for a 3 night stay. However, since there will be 4 of you, I'd request at least one extra set of towels (and pay $6 per extra set). We'd make our own beds and if the trash overflows, we'd empty it ourselves. We'd bring our own shampoo - Disney's stuff isn't the best, anyway, LOL.

Best wishes-

The advice to request an extra set of towels is excellent. You also might want to pack clothes detergent (I recommend tablets for travel) and softener sheets. Pop dirty towels in the washer before you leave in the morning, move them to the dryer when you get home in the evening, and you'll always have fresh towels.

Doubt I'd plan to wash anything if my stay was only for 3 nights, LOL! I'd choose to pay for extra towels - especially if I were staying in a studio!

Best wishes -

laundry tablets- I have been searching for the tide ones for months, and can't find them, does anyone know where you can find them or any other kind? thanks

Hold on a second, new to this DVC, just buying in this week and what is this paying for trash and towel service?? That isn't included in your point stay? Wow, do I have a lot to learn. And paying an extra $6 for towels??

How about the cleaning at the end of your stay, do you have to pay for that too? Can someone direct me to a thread with all the ins and outs of this?

You only pay for the Trash & Towel and Full Cleaning Services if you request more than the standard offerings.

If you request extra towel (more than what is provided at check in), the charge is $6 per set - which includes, 4 bath, 4 hand, 4 wash cloths and 1 bath mat.

Best wishes -

P.S. I'll look for a thread that describes what each service includes and post it later if someone doesn't beat me to it. When yo get your Guidebook/Planner, this info will be in it.

It's worth it if we are in a studio for the fresh towels, but I try and cancel it when we are in a 1 or 2 bedroom as we take out our trash and wash the towels then.

you don't say what kind of room you are in, but if you are there 3 nights, you would only have to pay for 2 full cleanings, and if I was without the kids, I would splurge!!! divided by 4, your really not talking about alot! nothing like coming back with the beds made and fresh towels! even if your in a 2 bedroom, your talking bout 20 bucks per person.

I agree

We are staying in a two bedroom.
Good ideas from all. I would never have thought about doing our own towels, I will look into the detergent tablets. Most hotels today will ask if you want to conserve water and the enviroment by keeping your towels for the duration of you stay ( which I usually do). So this is a good alternative.
Thanks
Looking forward to my stay. :cool1:

Unfortunately, Tide does not make tablets any more. We have a friend that works for P & G and he said that they just didn't sell enough of them. I found another brand of detergent that made some also, but they are so hard to find. When I find a box, I horde them for my DVC trips. Good Luck.
