Is transportation THAT bad from WL?

I have read in various threads that getting around from WL is a bit of a challenge (MK excepted). Do you get good bus service from WL to the other parks? Is it direct in most cases?

i have found it no different from any other resort i stayed at. the onlyy problems we had were at night when leaving Epcot. long long delays here but otherwise the same. now that i have thought about it the bus does share stops with the GF and the CH.

It wasn't that bad for President's Week this past February. Though, I do second the statement that there was a long wait from Epcot to WL - I don't really know why. That was the only pain in the butt as far as I recall. Everything else was pretty efficient.

We have stayed there many times and have never had any problems. Well, except for the time we were going to MVMCP on the first night. They forgot the party was on that night and the boat did not come. They finally sent a big ferry for us.

However, we always rent a car and we use it to go to downtown disney. We never use it for the parks.

Leaving Epcot or MK is always a problem at closing. It's a problem for all resorts and any transportation mode. Always assume you will have a long wait and hope for the best. The only time it's not a problem if you're in the Contemporary or BW/YC and can walk.

We were at WL in late June and use the buses and boat transportation to all the parks and downtown disney. We had no problems at all, and it was relatively stress free. The longest we waited was about 10 - 15 minutes at either end for a bus or a boat. We even took the bus back to WL from MK at closing one night and it was much faster than the boats.
The buses to AK, Epcot, and MGM did have a few stops before the parks, but we expected that and went with the flow.

We are going back to WL in August. Last time was 2003, and I know the bus situation has changed since then...the direct bus to MK is a big improvement!

What I am curious about is transportation from the WL to the other three parks - where does each bus stop? I remember sharing a bus with FW to at least two of the three parks, but I did not see that mentioned here recently. Is that still the case? I remember the trip to Epcot being particularly trying, but I may be mixing up my parks.

WL will share with FW for Studios and Epcot.
WL will share with GF for Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney.

WL is the first stop for both to and from the park.

We had no problem taking a bus from Animal Kingdom to WL to eat at Whispering Canyon. It went directly there with no stops, and I think it took all of ten minutes. We also had no problem getting the boat, less than 3 minutes wait. It stopped first at FT.W then at the Contemporary to let people on and off, but it was a pleasant ride.
