I am considering a 3-night cruise in October (daughter's fall break) . It's just my DD age 8 and myself, but I'm wondering if all the travel (from Kentucky) is worth just doing a three night cruise?? Does anyone have any experience with this?? I know we would have a great time, but I am used to at least a week for a vacation and if we were to book this with the airfare and everything I know we wouldn't be able to do any other trips this year. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm sure many will disagree with me, but I think that 3 days is simply not long enough. With all the planning, travel time, etc. it seems that just when you finally get settled onto the ship, it's time to get off again and it's over. We've been on many cruises, but they've always been 7 days or longer. It usually takes us a couple of days to get used to the ship and the "routine". IMHO, although being on DCL for even a couple of hours is wonderful, it seems like only 3 days would be a bit dissapointing when it was all over. Again . . . just my opinion. As I said, I've never been on a cruise less than 7 days, so maybe I should keep my unexperienced opinions to myself.

A 3 day is great to try out cruising if you are unsure about whether or not you would like it. We travel from Iowa and my husband did two 3 day cruises then a 4 then a 5 day and from now on 7 but we do have a 3 day land /4 day cruise scheduled for next New Year's Eve.(It is a gift for our daughter next Christmas) We are hoping we won't be disappointed it will be only 4 days. Just remember a 3 day goes by FAST but if you find you don't like the cruise, well fast is good and if you like it, well, as Dave says, "it is going to cost you a lot of money because it is only the beginning!" We went on the 4 day back in 2000....and we thought that wasn't long enough! It felt just as you got comfortable around the ship etc......it was over.

We did the 7 day this past March...and it was GREAT!! I don't get sea sick....and just loved being on the ship.......I would just love to do a back to back Eastern/Western someday.

We are planning another 7 day for 2004.

I would try to do at least the 4 day if you could.......IMHO, 3 days is not long enough at all

is a three day cruise worth it? You bettcha! My only complaint is that the time goes by quickly, and if you get off the ship at Nassau, you really don't have a lot of time to enjoy the ship and explore it.

We're going on a 3 dayer next week. We took our 1st Disney cruise in October 02, a 4 dayer, enjoyed it so much, booked a 7 day western for April 04 while on board, but with the cold weather up here in the Northeast and the discounted rates for inside cabins, couldn't pass it up. If you watch you can get air fares real cheap.

For a quick fix, what could be better. And just think how many 3 day cruises you can take for the price of a seven. You spread those over the course of a year. That's heaven.

Just ask Tony and Barb, What are they up to 28 or so.

Just my thoughts.

3 days on the Wonder are better than 3 days at home!
Yes, of course its too short, and no, you cant do everything, but you get to have 3 wonderful days!!!! We have done 2, 3 days now. One was with the land/sea package, and one with just a day at WDW(no parks) before. I would make the trip down there for just a 3 day cruise in a heartbeat.
And I would either skip Nassau or just get off for a quick walk around to see it. Definitely dont waste a whole day there, if you want to get the most you can out of the cruise.

Thanks for all the great replies, I enjoy seeing both sides of this debate. I'm still not sure what I'll do but either way (DW or DCL) I can't go wrong!!

No, three days is not enough....but YES, I'd do it anyway!!
Out of 28 Disney cruises, over 20 have been three-nighters. It's the only way we can maximize our vacation days in order to cruise this month. The time flies by way too fast, but it is still the best vacation I can imagine.
