Is this wrong?

Has anyone ever done this?

My husband and I have different last names. . . so we get offers (pin codes) emailed or snail-mailed to us with one name or the other. . .

Depending on who gets the better deal----the trip is then booked under that person's account.

We are probably booking our room this weekend under my husband's 30% resort code. . .

But if I get a better deal down the line. . .we might feel the need to cancel one trip in favor of booking another. . .

Is this frowned upon protocol? I feel a little guilty about it. . .

Meh. I don't see much wrong with it. We did somethng similar a few months back. There were no moderates available so we booked a villa, then @ the 7 day cancellation window a mod became available so we switched (which was esentially cancelling and rebooking).

The only thing wrong in my book is the fact that you are both getting offers- wah I am jealous!!! I have never had an offer emailed or snail mailed to me. Dh got one 2 years ago at his work email- no idea how Disney even had that! We have called and had a cm tell us once there was a code attached with our name. I have been calling weekly for 6 months hoping for a code. I have tried all the "tricks/tips" but nothing has generated a code for us.

Same with us! We've been going for years too! I guess they figure there is no need to woo us because we keep coming back anyway!

I don't think so! No one else can use a pin that's mailed to you, so it's not like you're taking something away from someone else. There's no lying involved in your situation, no moral ambiguity. People cancel and rebook all the time if a better GP discount shows up--and they're certainly not doing anything wrong. If someone in your household gets a pin that is a good deal and you can use, use it!

For those of you who never get the codes, one thing I found out is I never get them but when I call in I occasionally do, now with that being said we hop between FL, GP, Military, and pin codes any discount you can get is worth it. They are going to make their money back one way or another lol.

Thanks! I'll try calling a few times and see what happens. It can't hurt. BTW I noticed that you're in Sarasota, we only live a few towns south of you. :thumbsup2

Nothing wrong with it at all! I was actually told by a cast member last time we booked that it was smart to keep both names open lol! Gave us more chances at a pin number and didn't hurt to check both names when we called. :goodvibes

My hubby and I have the same last name, but with 6 kids we always need two rooms. It requires an adult to be the primary in each room, so we both get PINs and various emails in one name or another. The only time this was bad was when I went with a girlfriend last year, DH got a PIN in his name. I was not able to use it because he was not on the new booking :(

Wrong??? No way! I have 4 different emails signed up with Disney, all under MY own name! I get PINs on 2 of these accounts all the time. You only have 2? I say: make some more accounts! :goodvibes
