I have been eagerly anticipating our upcoming vaca since my countdown thingie has said "120 days....". Now that it's almost here, I don't feel as excited as I guess I ought to be. I feel like that sad feeling when you've just RETURNED from a WDW vaca!! :confused3 Alright, WHAT GIVES????!!?!?! Anybody else experience this....? :guilty:

It might be the stress of getting things together (lol), you know Kim, once you get there, there will be no stopping the EXCITEMENT.....ENJOY (and if Ron doesn't want to go, I could take his place, LOL)!!

This has actually happened to me too!!! I will get SO excited and talk about Disney to everyone I know and get so excited that I think I'm going to BURST!! And then I wake up and say to myself "I can't think about Disney today, maybe we shouldn't go, etc". Then I pinch myself and say "what in the HECK is WRONG with me??? Don't worry, it quickly passes. :rotfl: Hang out here awhile and that good 'ole "I can't wait to go and I feel like I'm going to crawl out of my skin" feeling will come back!!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl: Jeff-rey, Jeff-rey, Jeff-rey!!!! :teeth:

I'm the same way. My parents were supposed to be going with us but have cancelled due to health reasons :guilty: and even though in ALOT of ways that will make this a more relaxing and easier trip (Granny & I don't always agree on my mom styletechniques) , I'm just not excited anymore. If we weren't travelling on rented points, we would have probably cancelled/postponed. Oh, off to Disney I must go.... This should be my biggest problem, right? :teeth:

Perhaps you are one of those people who are always thinking ahead. So since your vacation is so close, this also means that it will soon also be over.

Try to relax and just enjoy the present. Have fun!

I always feel this way, too! I think it's because I love the anticipation and planning as much as the trip itself, so when it's almost time to go and everything is planned, I feel a letdown in the excitement. Once I get there, though, the magic returns! Have fun!

Sometimes there's so much last minute stress, it's hard to get excited until you get there. I'm sure things will change as soon as you get there!!! Have a great trip!!!!

...right. For the past week, I was saying to myself, "Self, in a week from now, I'll be at MK, or I'll be at RnRC, or....!" ,but the last two days, it's more like, "Gee, now my vaca is Over!"

What is it about a WDW vaca that the PLANNING is almost as fun as the trip itself????

I have a similar problem this trip too. I feel like this vacation is not "real" yet even though we are leaving in just over a week. I think it is from a combination of things. My DH can't go :guilty: He has to work. My best friend who is also Disney obsessed can't go either and I know she is a little depressed that the kids and I are going without them. :guilty: I have all the tickets and room reservations and even a couple of PS but for some reason it just seems like this vacation can't possibly be just a week away. When I first started planning it about five months ago I was so excited because it was a "bonus" trip so to speak because we weren't supposed to return until next year. I think between feeling like the trip is not quite real yet and having not packed and all the things I need to take care of I am just overwhelmed. Hopefully when we get there all the stress will go away and it will be as great as I know it should be. Good luck with your vacation. I think once you get there and relax and look at the castle the excitement will return! :wizard:

Everytime we get to our resort I look at the families that are checking out and how sad and quiet everyone is and I think "in a week that'll be us". I also do that when I'm on a ride and I look around at my family and the looks on their faces and the laughter and think "in a week I won't get to see this anymore until next time" I'm 23 and I think I "live every day like it's your last" a little too much. Before we go to WDW I think "what if this is my last trip with my parents?" I'm so glad my dad gave me his worrying trait. ;)

I always feel a bit of a letdown just prior to our trips. I've always chalked it up to my intense planning & all the thought & effort I put into that.

:confused3

I drive my wife crazy with how I respond to WDW vacations.
(She plans everything, thank God!)

It starts a few months out.
At first I couldn't care any less, then after a few months I get excited and start to plan things then find that it conflicts with what she's already planned, then I see that her plans are in fact better than mine so I step back.

The last few weeks before leaving, I'm back to not caring and then the few days before the flight I start to loathe the whole thing because I hate the airport drudgery.

Then once I step out of the airport terminal and feel the warm air (I'm from New England and we always go in March) I start getting excited again.
By the time we hit the room I'm totally in Disney mode (which is basically hungry!).

...I notice it when we are getting on the monorail at MCO to go to the main part of the terminal, and 'sad' folks are getting OFF to go to their gate!

I know exactly what you mean. I get a little down right before our trips because I know that it's going to be over soon. I look so forward to going to WDW and I really don't look forward to coming back.

I always experience anxiety before I go on vacation. I worry about packing, I worry about the flight, I worry about whether everything will go the way I planned it. Once the vacation starts, though, I throw myself into the enjoyment part. I'm sure it will be the same for you..

Have a wonderful, magical time!!! :earsgirl:
