I was supposed to go to dis in June me and my mom had everything planned out and i was soooooooo so so so so excited of course but a few weeks ago my math grade slipped like half a letter grade and my parents decided to take away the trip to dis???

idk if it's just me being bitter or whatever but is that a little unfair, im either looking to be proved wrong or convinced im right either was i need a little help.

Thanks!:confused3 :cool1: :cheer2: pirate:

i mean i no that my parents have that right but i just don't like it:sad2:

okay. opinion. not directed towards any parents.

parents today are super scrict. i know like tons of people in my grade that if they get like B+ on a report card, they're grounded. that is SO crazy. anything above a C is above average. my parents are super cool about it. I mean i've gotten like three C's on quizzes and stuff and they're just like what are you gonna do about it? and just leave it up to me.

so yes. that isn't fair at all. i think it's just plain crazy and really, if they were my parents i would challenge it. not like ARGHH FEJAOIFJEWAPOI challenge. but a fair easy nice one.

Are they still going..just without you.

If not, maybe they're trying to cover up the fact that they can't go with a reason that your grades are slipping.

Maybe they'r ehaving money problems, or just can't get off work or something like that.

How low is your math grade? Is it failing? Because if it is really bad (like a C if you usually get all A's) then they may be taking away the trip to motivate you to get better grades. If you brought your grade back up would they change there minds? Or is there another reason, like another poster mentioned, other than your grads preventing you're family from going to Disney.

I totally disagree with this. Parents aren't to strict, good colleges are getting harder and harder to get into every day. Our parents just want us to be able to go where we want to in life. My parents don't ground me for grades but i have never been in a situation in which they would need too. I myself strive for A's and only A's. My parents have never said " Get A's or your grounded." Please..

I want to be validictorian, that is MY goal, MY dream, that is what I want and not what my parents have put me towards. My parents have rasied me to reach for my dreams, and I believe if your parents are saying no trip because your grades have slipped, that is fair. Because, you know what? You shouldn't be letting your grades slip.. maybe you should have studied a little more for that one test? Maybe you should have gone in for a little more help? The fact of life is.. Math is a hard subject and if we don't get help when we need it, our grades slip, but you should be willing to work extra hard to pull the grade back up. Maybe make a deal with your parents that if you bring the grade back up to where it was or to a certain point that perhaps you can still go on your trip?

I wish you all the luck in the world!

::yes:: I totally agree!

My parents expect me to do MY best. My best just happens to be all A's. So they expect I get all A's because I am capable of doing it. I've had my ups and downs in the past with my grades. I've struggled in Math and Science and my grades dropped after horrible tests. Instead of saying "Oh since your grade in Science is a B, you're grounded.", they say, "What do you need help with?" Or "What are you not understanding?". And they help me underdstand it. They help me raise my grade.

And 3mtn-kate, I think its a fair decision because you should've kept your grades up. If you didn't understand something, you should've asked for help. Now, your grade dropped and you aren't going to Disney. :confused3

Yeah parents can be strict but I dont think thats right at all. Are any of your other grades slipping too? That could be part of it, but if not thats sooooo not fair.

thats definitely not fair...maybe if you went from, like, an A to an F or something, but only a little??? thats just wayyyy too strict

I'm not going to take sides.
But if my parents told me that, I'd throw a hissy. My parents care about my grades, and I've always have had good grades.
I have missed up to almost 3 weeks of school for Disney.
My grades have never suffered.
Just talk to them, and ask if you can sort a deal out. If they're not letting you have a say, maybe they are being a little ridiculous.

alright well my dad was never going (he's just not into it like me and my mom are) and my mom isn't going either but this weekend she's going to chicago with her friend (but thats fine and stuff) I've brought it up several times but my parents have stuck by their decision, i think it's because my dad's a teacher that they've been so strict. My parents have always been strict about my grades but this just really hurts that it would go this far.:sad1: :scared:

It really depends. did they ever mention to you if you drop a grade, you wouldn't be able to go. I mean i feel sympathy for you. if your parent's planned for weeks why did they just decide not to go. my mom is going to WDW in june and me and my brother's and dad can not go and it really mad me sad because i have always wanted to go to WDW and she told us she would take us one of these days. but the thing is it might be my last time to really spend time with my family before i might head to my academy school. but i think she is going to take us. everytime she plans a trip somewhere far away she end's up taking us although she told us she wasn't.

It depends. Like if my child had a D- or something and it dropped to an F, or even a C- that dropepd to a D or something, then yeah I can understand. However if you went from like an A to a B+ or something, then I think that it's rediculous.

wow if that was me i know id be askin my math teacher for some extra credit
i dont think my parents wood do that because they wanna go as bad as me
