I just read on these boards that there are no more beavertails in Epcot. My gosh, I am Canadian and I cannot believe that the Canadian pavilion people would allow this. We were so looking forward to them. There was always a line up when we were there.

Sad but true. Although, they had downgraded the b'tails before getting rid of them altogether, having them pre-made and reheated rather than cooked fresh, so the last couple of times we got them they were pretty mediocre at best. Sure wish they'd get the good, freshly-made ones back there again!

Sounds to me that they just weren't able to sell them at high-enough price to substantiate the cost. That's really a shame. :(

I was so disappointed when I found out about this...They haven't had them for a couple years.

I asked the castmembers at the cart right next to where the made the Beaver tails, and they said they heard several rumors of why the cart was closed and they didn't know the 'real story' -lol!

To make it up to me the CM gave me a mini-plastic pink dinosaur, it was cute =)

I really hope they bring these back!!!

After living in Ottawa for 9 years...Beaver Tails were very big there and still are. When we went in Jan to Epcot I was so looking forward to having one and was very disappointed after waiting 6 years to taste one again to find out they weren't selling them anymore. Maybe we should petition to the Canadian Pavillion and get them to bring them back.

OK, hate to sound ignorant but after reading cluelessly about beavertails in several other threads I just have to know.......what the heck is a beavertail???? :confused3

Beavertails are light kind of croissant like pastry that is in the shape of a flatbread and it's deepfried and when it comes out of the oil is covered in cinnamon sugar or other choices like apples/cinnamon, hazulnut chocolate, cheese/garlic, etc. They are to die for.
We aren't going to Ottawa this summer but they have a stand at Ontario Place in Toronto we hit every summer for them.
Yummmmmmm

A beavertail is fried dough that is made into the shape of a beaver tail and is topped with very yummy dessert toppings (cinnamon, sugar etc).

VERY yummy!
