I was told by a CM at the Disney Store that you can now wait until you get home to view your professional park pictures that they take when you enter the parks. He said to save all the tickets we get and we can view them onlinonce we get home and then order what we want .
This is awesome since the kids are always too tired to stop and view pics on the way out of the park. EIther that or I forget to check them at all.
Does anyone know if this is the case? Has anyone done it yet?

Yes it is true, we did this in Dec.

I have read of some people having problems with some pics not being online though.

Yes, it's true. It's called Photo Pass. WHen they take your picture, they will now give you a plastic card (like a room key) with a magnetic strip on the back. Each photographer who takes your picture can scan this same card (or give you a new one if you forget to bring it with you). When you get home, you log on to www.disneyphotopass.com and enter your card numbers and view your photos -- then order which ever ones you want. It's pretty cool.

Same price as park photos (I guess plus shipping, but shipping was minimal). Photos are 12.95 for 5 x7's and 16.95 for 8 x 10's (I think). No charge for the card or for the taking of photos -- you only pay for the prints you order - and no obligation. (Same as in the parks)

If you do a search for Photo Pass a bunch of people have posted their photo pass links. They stay on Photo Pass for AT LEAST 30 days. They say 30 days, but mine were on much longer.

The ride photos are not linked into this system. Those you would still purchase in the parks (Splash MOuntain, etc...).

Of course there's always a chance of photos being lost, etc, but for the most part the system seems to work well and most people have been very happy.

While they are online, you can share them for free, too.

Hope that helps!

Yep, its called photopass. You will get a card from the person taking your picture and you can use it throughout your entire trip. When you get home you log onto www.disneyphotopass.com and can view all your pictures. First though you must type in the number on the back of your card.

Its great and you can play with the signatures with characters and logos on the pictures.

I cannot recommend PhotoPass enough. We just got back a week ago today and we had taken 45 pictures through PhotoPass!!!! You can view them and purchase them online for up to 30 days after your trip! It is WELL worth it- especially since you do not have to make any monetary commitments to purchase the photos. We did not have ANY problems with missing photos or anything else. Plus, having one plastic card that links all the pics together is MUCH better than having a million slips of paper than inevitably get wet, lost, or damaged so much you cannot read them.

:cheer2: YAY FOR PHOTOPASS! :cheer2:

PS: The three photos in my siggy are PhotoPass pictures! :teeth:

AWESOME! The problem we were having on our last trip was trying to decide if that days pic was the BEST we were going to get or was the next day going to look better. We would buy a set then the next day take more and think, " wow this pose is better than the one we bought yesterday. Wish we had known and we would have bought these instead." Make any sense? Now we can compare them all and only buy the best! This is great info to have. I will also save the one card in my wallet so I don't get multiple! Thanks!

Exactly. You'll love it.

Enjoy!

Worked great for us in Dec. I have never had Disney pictures taken (though I have 100's in links below) and this time, with DD, Natalie, had some great ones. Ordered several, it was great. Best is to reuse the first card you get, just giving it to each photographer to scan new pics on. Super idea for all, Disney and the guests.

Photopass is fantastic! :goodvibes  :goodvibes
We went beginning of December and I think it may have finally run out now as they said it was only 30 days but I could still see mine beginning of May as they keep sending special offers to purchase pics!

Okay, so I was under the impression that the photopass photos were the same as the regular ones you get done at the entrance to each park. But it would seem that the photographers are all over the place from some of the photos I've seen. Is this the case? But you can't tie the attraction photos into this can you? Now, that would be wonderful.

I do not think the ride photos (if thats what you mean) can be tied in. I think they are on an entirely different system. I could be wrong though.

The PhotoPass photographers are EVERYWHERE. They usually have them with characters so you can buy the photos of the whole family with the characters- not just mom and the kids without dad who had to take the picture. We saw them in front of Mission Space, some flowers in Epcot, near the side of the castle at MK..... in other words- EVERYWHERE!!! There are no limits of where they can take photos. They were happy to take them where ever we requested and they were SUPER nice folks! princess:

Can you view them online as soon as they're taken? Can you call home with the Photo Pass number and let your family look at them while you are still on vacation?

If I'm not mistaken, they appear online three days after they are taken in the park. This is what they tell you, anyways. We took our last pictures on a Sunday morning at about 10:00am and when I arrived home that night at about 11:00pm, all of my pictures were available (including the ones taken just 13 hours earlier). It wouldn't hurt to have someone check for you. It is very simple to do. All they would have to do is register (its relatively short) and then type in the numbers on your card and voila, there they are! :cool1: Pretty cool!

Again another thumbs up for photopass!

We wondered why they didn't tie in ride photos though, shouldn't be too hard to swipe your card under the screen with the picture on it if the facility were available!

Also wondered why you can't buy the .jpg version of the photo rather than the print this would be good (although the pics do end up in your internet history if you can be bothered looking for them - we decided to be honest and not bother!)

Paul.
