I just made reservations for VB & WL for May. My oldest will be turning three on the trip and has been asking to go back to the beach.

My question is should I even attempt WDW or just change reservation to stay at VB the entire time. At the time of travel my daughters will be 3, 21 mos. & 8 mos. This trip it will just be my husband & I with the girls.

Should we try WDW with these ages?
We also have reservations in Sept. for SSR and we have my mother going with us then.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
This is my first Disney trip as a mother & our first time staying at WDW resorts.

Thanks!:)

Well I would do it all but I am just that type - love to go go go with kids and it keeps me energetic.

But if you don't feel up to it you can certainly hold off since you have a trip planned just a few months later with help.

Thanks Traveliz!

I think we may just try to do I park while we are there and save the rest for our next trip. What park would you recommend so we can all do stuff together?

Thanks Melanie :flower3:

I would definitely go for it! Of course, the first trip with our kids was with 9 month old twins and I was 6 months pregnant. I would not limit myself to one park either. We would go to one park in the morning, back to resort for naps and to another park in the evening. There are some great attractions for little ones in every park. To our family hopper passes are a MUST!

Thanks mericletwins!

I agree with you I just have so much negative energy around me about this. Other than my colleague who turned me on to the DVC everyone else thinks I am crazy even my husband to some extent. I think we are just going to do it and have the best time we can have. My family & friends say "why are you spending this $$ they won't remember it?", etc.

I think I have different outlook on life now. I guess being an older new mom (I know some people don't consider 30 older) has alot to do with it. I would of had kids at 20 if I were able. I spent many years trying everything to have children and now we have adopted three newborn girls and I want them to experience everything possible from an early age. I don't want me or them to look back and say "we should have done this but we were too busy or did not want to spend the $$", etc.

So I am going to do it. It is also going to be my oldest daughters 3rd birthday while we are there!

I plan on having a good trip!

Thanks again!

I have to say go for it! I am also an adoptive mom to a gorgeous daughter from Guatemala. We are taking our first family vacation in May. My outlook is that who cares if they don't remember it? YOU will! You will never forget how their faces light up and how much fun they had. They will have those pictures to look back on, too. Not only that, but I really believe that every experience our children go through impact their little personalities and help them grow, even if they won't remember that exact experience. Just my 2 cents.

When people say why do it they won't remember ... that could apply to sooo many things (the zoo, visiting Santa, the playground, birthday parties). I think they do remember because they have a feeling of joy and security of being with their family regardless of where or what you are doing. Go and enjoy your young family and make sure you take alot of pictures for your scrapbook.

I say GO FOR IT! They won't remember it? I still have a very distinct memory of being in my stroller falling asleep to the lights parade at MK and waking up and my aunt had bought me a donald duck toy.... confirmed to have happened.

Not only that..if they don't remember.. fine. But YOU will remember, won't you? :)

My kids don't have memories of our trips to WDW when they were toddlers, but we certainly do. I can remember my son who religiously took long afternoon naps, staying awake and happy all day at MK. We stayed until after the fireworks. Way after his bedtime. As soon as the last firework went off, he immediately fell sound asleep. The look on his face was priceless. We were amazed at what a great time we had with kids so young. I wouldn't hesitate to take young kids to WDW.

The only challenge you guys might face is being outnumbered by the kids. My kids are 15 months apart and so my husband could manage one toddler and I could manage the other. It made it easy to deal with getting on/off rides.

I would go. But thats me. We took our DS for his first trip at 9 months & we have been back every year since. DS is about to go on his 4th trip & cant wait. He talks about it, A LOT, and has memories from our last trip.

Thanks mericletwins!

I can't stand when people make the comments about them not being able to remember it. My kids LOVE to look at the pics of them when they were babies with the characters. They also still remember trips from when they were 3 or 4 years old. I also am an "Older" mom:wave2:

We tried for years to get pregnant and ended up get pregnant through IVF. The u/s when we found out we were having twins was my 30th birthday. Luckily and VERY suprisingly we got pregnant on our own when the twins were 5 months old!:scared1:

I have to say one of the great things we did on that trip when they were babies was having their picture taken for the wall right as you walk into Epcot. I have no idea what it is called. Every time we go we find their baby picture in Epcot. It is really neat. Just as long as you know that the rides and things you will be doing are for the kids this trip and you probably won't make it on the thrill rides, then you'll be fine. Take it slow and soak in all the atmosphere. Spend time at your resort, play in the pool etc. Book a special charcter meal for your daughter's third birthday. I never understood why people wait to go to Disney until their youngest can remember. How unfair to the oldest! Another plus......this is the last trip you'll be able to take to Disney and all three kids will be free!
