We are going Oct 4, arriving around 7 a.m. (driving) with DD 7 and DS 9, this is kinda how I have our first day planned...is this too much for the first day, this is our first family trip and first trip for me and dh since our HM 1992 :earseek:

Check in to ASMu ( I know the room won't be ready that earlier in a.m.)
Go to MK
Lunch at Peco's Bill or Casey's
More of MK
Then hop to Epcot
Then to Boardwalk for dinner at ESPN Club around 6
Then come back for Epcots Illuminations
ASMu for the night :faint:

Should we come to ASMu before going to Epcot or after lunch to check out the room?
Any change suggestions welcomed...Thanks for all the wonderful help I have gotten on these boards :disrocks:

It sounds a lot.

with.. DD6 and DS8
Went to MK morning EMH
lunch (MK)
POFQ (went back to our resort)
Epcot
and hop to MGM (but we never made it!)
It was too much!

I do think it is too much. I would leave it to just 2 parks that first day and eat at Epcot for dinner...maybe Rose and Crown for fish and chips?...If you must do the 2 parks in one day. To tour Epcot in 1/2 day, ride all the cool stuff in Future World and leisurely stroll through World Showcase to pick up all the ambience.

Good luck with that!

I must agree...too much for one day, especially the first day. I'd definitely make time in the middle to go check into the room (even it's just one person in your party). Weird things can happen with ressies, so it's better to physically check-in and get into the room as early as you can in my opinion.

I agree too much....driving usually makes me exhausted...don't think I'd be up to doing that much after driving..

:earseek: Sounds like a lot! I agree that you should make some time to go back to the resort just in case. Also, eating dinner either at the resort (food court is fairly quick from what I remember) or at one of the two theme parks, since you plan to return to Epcot that evening anyway.

I wish I could do all that! Illuminations is every night so don't feel like you have to do it all! Let the kids dictate how much you do, if they are fading then take the cue from them.
Have fun! We will have just missed you, we are coming home on the 1st.

Try going to MK after checking in and then to dinner and if everyone is still up to it see Illuminations..

I think plans on paper are different than how you feel when you actually get there! The early part of the plan is good- since your room won't be ready anyway. You could always see how you feel in the afternoon and evening. I have younger kids, so I don't know how it is with 7 and 9's - but I would be scared they might be really tired or burnt out the next day with a schedule like that!
