Is this too much Epcot?

We will be staying at an Epcot resort. So on our "relaxation" day at the resort/pool, I would like to go into Epcot at night for dinner, shopping, etc. in the World Showcase. I feel like this almost doesn't count as "park time" because it will be relaxed...no rides...and we can walk. Our other alternative is to go to MK that night. But I feel like that is so much more work and that MK is more intense than the WS in Epcot. Is that true? Getting to MK will take more time/effort. And once there, I feel like we will do some attractions and it will really feel like "park time" as opposed to a day off from the parks.

But I don't know if we've given enough time to MK and too much time to Epcot. :confused3 We have been to DLR many times, so I want to spend a little more time experiencing WDW things (i.e. Epcot) as opposed to bizarro Disneyland (i.e. MK).

Here is a rough schedule...what are your thoughts?

Sunday - Epcot (6 hours)
Monday - AK (7 hours)
Tuesday - MK (5 hours + 4 hours night time)
Wednesday - pool/resort day then evening Epcot (3 hours) or MK (3-4 hours)
Thursday - HS (7 hours)
Friday - MK (6 hours)
Saturday - Epcot (6 hours)

Thanks!

Your schedule sounds fantastic.
Spend one Epcot day exploring Futureworld
- rides and attractions
Spend one Epcot day (during the day) catching the entertainment around World Showcase
- catch Illuminations. Get a good viewing spot
- some of the street performers are good
Spend one fantastic evening exploring countries.
- could do drinks around the world
- eat a nice meal. Lots to choose from

Can always mix it up too.

No, not too much Epcot at all, especially if you're wanting to explore World Showcase fully. I'd stick with that plan.

We love Epcot! We go to WDW twice a year and still haven't explored all of the countries! When are you going?

BC is our favorite resort and we do that too- sometimes we even hopped the monorail at Epcot to MK just to watch the fireworks and then come on back- it's just so easy.

We are going this May/June and plan on going to Epcot after an early swim at BC- we have two young boys and are going to do the Agent P adventure. We have no idea how long it will take but plan to just take our time and have fun.

Epcot is actually our favorite park bc it's so big that there could be a ton of people there and you really wouldn't notice lol. We always spend at least 2 full days at epcot. Would spend more time if we had longer vacations though. We usually stay in a MK resort area. Next time I am really thinking about staying in an epcot resort. We really do love Epcot!

We always plan an extra evening in Epcot. It also gives me a chance to browse the shops for anything else I might want to buy. On our upcoming trip, we're doing 1 morning in FW and then dining in WS.

Stick to World Showcase and skip Future World, except Test Track and Soarin'. Nothing else in FW is worth your time, let alone your FP+'s. We enjoy WS so much just strolling, eating, shopping, etc and not worrying about our next ADR or ride to hit next.

Disagree. We love Sum of All Fears and The Great Piggy Bank Adventure. The kids like some of the other things offered there. Then there is the Coke Cool Station, Nemo, Mission Space, and Ellen for when you need a cool nap.

Last December we decided to add an extra day to the end of our trip. Our kids swam in the late morning and then we went to EPCOT to explore the countries until dinner time then headed over to the Poly for dinner at Captain Cooks and a monorail trip to visit the Grand Floridian. It was so nice to have a park day that wasn't really a park day! What a great way to end our trip!

It will not be too much time in EPCOT. My DD just turned 9, when we go to DLR the only thing she misses from WDW is EPCOT. It is a 2 full day park for us. We also have done it more than once on arrival night just for extra time to have a TS meal, wander around and soak in the atmosphere. Your DD will probably love the Agent P (Phineas and Ferb) adventures they have in several countries throughout WS. Those can take 20 to 30 minutes each and I think there are about 8 of them DH likes them as much as DD does.

I disagree that there is nothing in FW worth your time except for TT and Soarin. DD loves Living with the Land, Spaceship Earth, Mission Space (the green side), Journey into Imagination, Club Cool, the Nemo ride, Turtle Talk with Crush, the Aquariums (and other play areas) and probably more. Actually if you have ridden RSR a bunch at CA, I would say TT could be a disappointment. It seems to me like a bargain basement barely themed RSR since they redid it.

As far as MK being more intense than WS, that depends on when you are going. If you are going during Food and Wine, WS will be intense at night especially on the weekends. (WS is also typically more intense on Friday and Saturday night than the rest of the week. )

We are also staying in the Epcot area. We plan on spending one full day at Epcot, but then also eating dinner there 4 more nights. There is such good food there and so much to see I don't think there could ever be too much Epcot!

In all our visits to Epcot we have some how managed to totally miss or by pass all the innoventions stuff. lol...I have no idea how that has happened but I am now making a mental note to visit it with my kids. I just had to look up the Great piggy bank adventure bc I was like what the heck it that! Thanks so much for that piece of information!

Nope....not too much time at all. We never take a break day anymore. We learned years ago that we spend that day wishing we could be in the parks. Does not cost much to add on a day. We like more days and go a bit slower each day. You really have a lot less time in the park each day than you might want. We have an 8 year old and he can and wants to spend longer times in the parks now.

I think you have a great plan.Plus, one of the advantages of staying at an Epcot resort is the ease of walking to and from it. I would also take advantage of strolling around WS and eating there on various nights, especially after a pool afternoon.

I agree you can never have too much Epcot. I'll be there in May and my tentative plans (I don't make real plans just go with the flow) are to spend my first day at AK until around 2 or 3 and head over to Epcot. Second day is MK with breaks at Epcot. Third day is HS, with maybe breaks at Epcot or I might get wild and crazy and head over to MK. Fourth day Epcot. I leave on the 5th day but I drive so the morning will be spent in, wait for it, Epcot. Notice no DTD, no need I can shop at the parks. I'm a solo adult though so Epcot just appeals to me.
