Is This Too Boring?

We currently drive a 93 Civic and a 98 CRV. We will be inheriting FIL's 98 CRV(with over 100, 000 miles on it) and giving the Civic to DH's neice. Now the dilemma is what do we do? Our first thought was to trade in our CRV(worth more than FIL's) and get an Odyssey. We may not be able to swing that so our next option is trade in FIL's car and buy a new CRV. So the question is, are we too boring if we own 2 of the same kind of cars? I should add we both really love the CRV, and if we end up with a 98 and a 02 (or 03) we probably wouldnt need a new car for quite some time.

I think it's kinda cute. His and hers, so to speak. Besides, if you like them, who cares if someone thinks it's boring. Do what's best for your family. Whatever you do, put a Mickey topper on them, and enjoy!

I don't think it's boring. If you like it why would you want to get anything else? I agree with TC it is sorta cute.

we have two Dodge Caravans :)

I dont think were boring.

granted one if dh's work van but its still a Dodge Caravan.

One is maroon the other (mine) is lilac. :)

Maybe getting different colours would make you feel less boring? ;)

There's a couple in my neighborhood that has 2 minivans that are the same model (different year) in the same color. There are several other couples who have the same car but in 2 different colors. I don't think it's boring at all.

We have 2 Ford taurus - of course I have the better model and the new car- lol
DHs is a 2000 green and mine is 2002 black (or something like that)

The 02 CRV really looks different than the 98 CRV anyway. Body style has changed-get a new one in a different color!:D

Right after we bought our new house. me and the Mrs. bought matching Lincoln Navigators :D

Wow Rats Rule, you must have a big rat cave to fit 2 Navigators :D

If the cave is that big, why didn't you go for a Hummer? That way you've got something different :D

Ok, I guess its not that unheard of to have 2 of the same car then. I have a green now and FILs is silver. If we get a new one I definitely want blue. Ive always regretted that I got the green instead of the blue. I like the green but I like the blue better. At the last minute when we ordered it, I wasnt sure if the blue was too bright so I chickened out and got green. Now I know, I want blue! ;)

Its funny, I live in a small neighborhood and 2 sisters(one lives here and one doesnt, but shes always here with the family) both have CRVS. Now if we end up with 2, our neighborhood will look like a Honda lot. :teeth:

My DH and I each had a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Mine is burgandy, his was green. Someone stole it from in front of our house... the police even saw the two men driving it, but figured they were friends of ours, so they didn't pursue it even though they fit the description of the men who were on a car stealing spree at that time. They wrecked the green Jeep, so DH bought a white one. We had that until my BIL wanted a 6 cylinder SUV and made a deal with us to buy it so we could get a Durango and actually pay less for it than what we were paying for the Jeep.

Boring. Definitely not. If you find a good thing, stick with it.

But you can get great deals on used ones.

A friend of the family bought one ( i think it was a 94) for $15,000. They love it- said it feels great and drives like a dream

Not at all.. if you're happy with the cars, that's all that counts! :)

I think it would be kind of neat!!
