Is this the free birthday cake onboard? (pic)

My son is turning 7 on the ship. He isnt much of a cake person but he would LOVE the chocolate ship on this cake..it would be perfect for him. I found the image in google images and was wondering..is this one of the free ones or one I have to order? I want to ask for something with this candy ship on it for his birthday night.

I'm sorry, I don't have a picture. When we sailed on the fantasy last year my daughter got a slice of chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. I don't recall it being as big as the above picture, but it was enough to for four of us to share a bit. Hope that helps.

Did it have the white chocolatehappy birthday ship on it? I think that is the part that my son would LOVE.

Should I talk to dining as soon as I get on the ship?

In November our son got a round piece of chocolate cake. It had a thin piece of chocolate stuck in it but it was not shaped like a ship and it just said happy birthday many times. I have a pic but he doesn't like me posting pics of him

That is the older version of the "free birthday cake". The new one is smaller & I *think* I remember it having a small piece of chocolate with "happy birthday" on it. Someone probably can post a pic.

As stated, these are no longer provided. In order to get a more elaborate dessert now, you need to order it ahead of time. 2 weeks before sail time is the minimum time to order.

That looks a lot like how the birthday/anniversary cakes used to be. This was from our 2010 TA cruise, the cake was quite large (could serve 6-8):


Now they just do a small chocolate mousse-type cake for the celebrating individual:

This is what I got on my birthday too. It's chocolate mousse rather than cake. I thought it was good.

Maybe you could take the picture of what you want to a local bakery or candy shop and they could make one for you, since its not available anymore on the ships, and give it to the server to place on the cake before they bring it out.

If the pictures are from 2010, I'd highly doubt they have any left. And really, would you WANT something left from then??

The chocolate mousse thing has been in effect since AT LEAST July 2013.

Oh the replacement piece of cake looks sad compared to the old one. We celebrated both My DS and DH birthday's back in 2010 on the Magic. The piece of cake was huge and my sons came with a whole Mickey Bar sticking out of it.

We were pleasantly surprised. The cake was delicious.
