I remember reading about lots of moms who shop/ buy/ sell Gymboree on one of these boards!
I can't afford new Gymboree outfits for my girls as a general rule...we love getting their clothes as gifts, and I buy a special outfit here and there for my dd's who are turning 3 and 5. But I can't do a whole fall wardrobe from there. I have been buying lots on ebay, or from a local friend who had a daughter a few years older than mine, but she has gotten too big and her old clothes are now a few sizes ahead of us.
As of last night, I'm so frustrated with the whole ebay process...I lost 2 lots by a dollar, one in the last 20 seconds, when I was watching but couldn't even confirm my bid on time, and one after I'd gone to bed!! I realize that you're supposed to put in the highest your willing to spend, and I often do, but when I see that it went for a dollar more, well, I might have inched up a little to try and beat that, kwim...? I really wanted the outfits and in hind sight should have gone higher, but now I'm just left frustrated and disappointed.
Is there a better way to buy gently used Gymboree that I'm missing? I know there are Gymboree devoted websites, etc. Is there a resale site out there somewhere where I could avoid the hit or miss of ebay and still get the cute clothes we want for a bargain? I haven't tried local thrift stores yet...figure they probably don't make it there...and have yet to get to a consignment shop though it's in the back of my mind as well.
Thanks!!
