I am coming here to ask all of you DLR experts what in the heck I should do!

My daughter and I have a very last minute trip planned to SoCal and we have added on Nov 5th to 7th in Anaheim.
We have both been to Disneyland before but not before the pandemic so there are lots of new rides and attractions we are both excited about.
(and when I say excited, I mean we are bouncing off the walls excited!)

Here are the facts:

1) I am pretty sure we are adding Genie+ to our tickets for both Monday Nov 6 and Tuesday Nov 7.
2) We have two days and we want to devote a day to each park so we have decided to not park hop.
3) I have a torn ligament so no rope dropping for us this time around.
4) I think the parks might be lighter than usual with crowds because Halloween in over but the Holiday decor/food etc doesn't officially begin until Nov 10 (I think).
6) RoTR is my MAIN GOAL. I have not ridden it yet.
7) I am hoping to NOT have to use LL but will if I have to.

My question(s) to all you fine folks is:

Which park do you think will be busier on the Monday?
What park would you go to to on each day?
My instinct is telling me Magic Kingdom/Disneyland will be busier on the Monday, partially because I have been reading here on the boards how busy Mondays have been.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

You're right about Mondays being busier, but even busy days are fun and doable especially if you have Genie+. Crowds that week are probably going to be average either way.

I always start with Disneyland because I can't wait another second to get inside once I'm within a mile of the park lol. But I think either park on Monday will be ok.

You will love ROTR! Even having read about it, I was amazed by that ride. It's definitely worth a LL if you want to cut back on your wait time.

If you don't mind starting at DCA, I would do that. Get in as many rides as you can before 11 am when the park hoppers head over. That said, how is the torn ligament going to impact your trip? If you aggravate it on the first day, will you be less comfortable walking on the second day? ROTR is the farthest from the entrance, so it is a trek getting out there. It also closes early so it isn't a ride you can go on when other people are watching fireworks.

Note that both parks close relatively early (9 and 10 pm) on those days.

THIS! I am worried this might be the situation and that is why I am micro planning these two days.

I have to be realistic about this limitation and I just keep telling myself that a little bit of Disney is better than none.
My daughter and I are considering the possibility of renting a wheelchair for the second day if needed.

If that is the case, I think it would be smarter to start at Disneyland and plan on buying LL. The standby line is rarely less than an hour which is a long time if you only have one day in the park.

Consider adding park hoppers, especially for such a short trip. You may be bummed when DCA closes to not be able to go into disneykabd

With that being said, normally I’d say start in Disneyland because I think seeing the castle and getting sucked into that magic is the first priority

BUT I also can’t imagine ending a trip in DCA and not having Disneyland and the castle being the last thing I saw! Lol
So that’s a tough one

Otherwise, definitely plan/budget on purchasing an ILL for rise.
You will NOT want to waste your limited time in the standby line

If your going with no park hopper I would start at Disneyland but I would definitely think about adding the park hopper because DCA although has great rides with Genie+ you will be done with the park in a half a day. If ROTR is the most important thing for you I would defiantly buy the LL for it so you can make sure you get on it if your not rope dropping. Remember it closes early most nights.

I already replied but wanted to come back and say hoppers would be worth it for such a short trip. You will have more options for dining and entertainment since it's easy to pop back and forth between the parks. DCA is great, but you don't necessarily need a whole day there.

I also like your daughter's idea of a wheelchair for you, or you could rent an ECV.

I am honestly the only person I know who can spend NEARLY the entire day at CA and that is solely because I spend half the day with the Avengers. I go to the shows multiple times so much so that Star Lord once said “hey, I danced with you before” (but I’m not a stalker honest…well…maybe with Cap just a wee bit)

CONSIDER HOPPERS…you’ll be so much happier being able to go back to DL once you have done all there is to do in CA. Lots of people still feel like it’s not a full day park. Even if you are coming back at night for WOC, you’ll be able to zip over for a few rides before that. Especially if it is hot..there is far more shade over at DL.

I'm gonna go against the flow and support your decision to not get park hoppers. Use that money instead to do the WoC dessert party for example or to purchase LL$ for RotR.

My reasoning is that since DCA is a park with much less to do then you can take it easy on your first day. Hang around Avenger's Campus and see the characters if you are into that, take is slowly so you don't overtire yourself, do repeat rides of your favorites, enjoy the vibe of Carsland, etc.

This way you will have the extra energy to tackle DLR for all it's got.

Thank you to everyone for all your advice, it has given me a lot to think about!
