We always bring a cooler with milk and have cereal in the room most mornings. We are not big eaters in the morning and don't like to waste money on eating breakfast out. This will be our first stay at a Deluxe and I don't want to look like a freak walking in with a cooler and groceries.

Just got back from the WL Deluxe...we had a small frig...used part of a dresser for cereals and bowls and stuff...then we had a syrofoam cooler we kept in the bathtub (it started leaking) to keep our water chilled. It was July and we went through 3.5 cases of water during the week.....

Don't give it a thought...save money if you want...

You won't be the only one. Guests at VWL, who check in at the same desk, often/usually bring groceries with them.

I do it all the time.... saves money and lets us spend it in other ways. And I know we're not the only ones.... so I proudly bring my cooler and snacks!!

We kept a cooler with water and pop in the bathtub and snacks on the top of the dresser. Nobody will care and you certainly won't be the only one.

Not to worry, many people show up with grocery's, pillows, etc. I always have a towncar pick us up at the airport and make a grocery stop. For a 2 wk. stay I typically pick up 2 cases of water, diet pepsi and a few snacks for the room. Enjoy your trip.

I agree. Sometimes if we have too much we will avail ourselves of the valet service so we're not lugging these items through the hotel or perhaps leave the cooler and food items in the car for later retrieval.

I even asked room service for extra bowls so I could eat my store bought cereal! They said "sure, we'll send them along!".

How's that for Disney Magic!!!

We look like the Beverly Hillbillies when they moved to Californy when we arrive. Anyone who thinks you look like a freak has a problem, not you!

You guys are so funny. Nobody cares what you bring-everyone brings tons of stuff. I appreciate the humor.

LOL I just love the way you put that! "I don't want to look like a freak.."

I don't think anyone would be bothered if you took in a cooler and groceries :teeth:

I love this thread. I have often wondered if we looked like the Clampet's bringing our trusty cooler through the lobby. Although we have always gone back to the car to retrieve it ourselves instead of asking bell services to haul it in for us. LoL

this always makes my husband walk 10 feet ahead of us!! Me and our 2 kids will bring so many snacks, sodas and groceries with us they are falling off the luggage cart!! And this is at the GF! He is mortified but always happy that its there...Hey..I even bring a six pack of beer in our cooler...ANd we have the kids pillows and their comfortors as well. We are quite a site. He was joking with me and said that I should bring the toaster for waffles in the Am...I bet hes sorry he said that...

we are going in two weeks and I have already started yelling at the kids "dont eat that food! thats to take to disney!!"

we've never been to WDW, at least with kids, without a cooler et al. How else can you eat quickly before getting off to early entry not to mention a heck of a big savings, money wise, even if you buy at Goodings, the world's most expensive grocery store.

One of the advantages of being a DVC member (or staying at a DVC resort) is the full kitchen you get. Along with a washer and drier as well. Not that we spend our time cooking, but the full size fridge is nice!

i was at okw from 7/3-7/10. took #42 bus from airport to publix. bought $85 worth of groceries (just for little ole me...water, coffee, diet rites, other atkins stuff). took cab to resort. tipped cab driver almost $5 for helping load and unload the groceries even though she took 'the long way home.' then $5 for bellman to load into van and carry to room. do i care how it looks??? nunce, do i care!

headed to pofq, bwv, bcv for 10-day stay aug 5-15. already bought a groovy collapsilbe cooler for the pofq stay. play the grocery trip again, putting all the stuff that must keep chilled into the cooler each time disney moves me to the next resort.

money is one thing. another is having what want to eat and drink when i want it, particularly in the room, as i hang out there alot.

'oil, that is, texas tea.'
