Is This Tacky?? Help!!!

Hi all!

Went to Disney for my first time in January and fell in love. My fiance has been going every year since he was a kid. He even spent his honeymoon there with his first wife.

We created a whole bunch of memories for ourselves (I wasn't jealous at all surrounded by all that magic!) and now I want to be married there. Not sure if it'll be intimate or custom yet...feeling out the family on how many will travel from NJ.

Is this tacky? I mean, I REALLY fell in love with him all over again at Disney. Our 3 day mini trip turned into 8 days and then we went back for 2 weeks after being home for a week and a half. We are purchasing a DVC membership to be able to go every year as well.

I really need some opinions from people who love Disney as much as we do. Nobody else understands

What's tacky?

Disney is a magical place...getting married there can really "up" the magic potential.

Our wedding was our first ever trip to DisneyWorld...and we are saving now to (hopefully) buy DVC next year. We love it there!!!

Don't worry what others think...if you hang around here long enough you'll read lots of posts from folks who have families/friends/coworkers who simply don't "get" Disney...and that's actually a good thing 'cause if they don't get it, they don't go and that leaves more space for us!

I don't see how that would be tacky at all. They didn't get married there they just honeymooned at WDW

Well I always wanted to get married in Disney. But my fiancé's and my Italian family from NJ wanted something different. We had moved from NJ to Virginia Beach about 1 1/2 ago. Well we decided to have it in Virginia Beach. That made no one happy! They didn't want to travel and no one wanted to help us out on the finical end. So my Fiancé and I decide on an Intimate in Disney and it is the best thing i could have ever done, because now the family isn't happy that we are getting married in Disney they wanted it in Virginia Beach.

You can't make everyone happy. It is your wedding and your day. Do what makes you happy!!!

Kim, boy do I know what you mean about the Italian relatives in NJ. That's where we live and we're both half Italian!

Brad and I have discussed this even further and we're thinking of just doing an intimate vow renewal down there after the big wedding here in NJ. This way I get to have what I want and the family gets what they want. I'll just have to lug my gown down there I guess. We're honeymooning down there anyway and I really want the Castle Portrait done.

Pictures at 6 am...lovely...yawn....smile pretty!...lol

I spent my first honeymoon at WDW with my now ex-husband. We stayed off-site and it was truly the most unromantic honeymoon ever...lol

When my now-DH and I rekindled (high school sweethearts...apart for 10+ years) our relationship, it was at Disneyland in CA. When we decided to get married, we had originally chose to marry/honeymoon in Vegas. That was until I found a heck of a deal for WDW! He told me that if I could find a way for us to get married while we were there that wouldn't break us, then we'd do it. So...I did! We married off-site at a chapel and spent a gloriously romantic week at WDW. We stayed on-site and had an absolutely fantastic time.

DH was a little worried at first because I had honeymooned there before. I explained to him that this is very different. Stayed on-site...did very different things...GOT MARRIED while there...this one was a true honeymoon! The other one..more like a little weeklong vacation.

I say do what your heart desires!! Best of luck no matter what you decide!
