I am sure this is asked 100 times a day, but hey, I'm new to the photo boards. Give a girl a break.
We had a Canon S1 IS. It was 5 years old and a few weeks ago I was taking a pic and the viewer just went black with jagged lines through it. Not sure what this means.
Turned off, back on several times. Took out batteries. Nothing worked. I am assuming its just dead with no resurrection. Am I right?
If I am in the market for a new camera what should I get?
I want something that is not real heavy, takes great pics, takes the picture when I hit the shutter button (not the picture that is happening 1-3 seconds later!), has a good zoom AND is under $500. I'm not asking much right?
We take pictures of family, sports, vacation and disney. Thats about it.
My dad (who is a total shutterbug) has suggested a Canon SX or EOS. I just wanted to get someone else's opinion. My dad tends to go high-end on his cameras (even though he is a frugal freddy when it comes to everything else!
