Is this right?

Hi everyone! I fairly new to posting, but somewhat of an occasional lurker. I'm also fairly new to planning for disney and understanding all the tricks of the trade.

I'm price quoting what I'll need for my trip in 2015. I need to save a bit each month and wanted an amount I could shoot for, even though I know the prices will increase in 2015. But having a ballpark is a benefit.

1. I want to go 2/11 - 2/17
2. for 2 people
3. stay in a standard poly room
4. have a 6 day park hopper ticket
5. eat on a disney dining plan

(we're using my mom's sky miles for flight, so I don't have to cover that.)

The play, stay, dine, and save package in my cart is about $4,597
The winter room discount (with tickets and dining plan added) in my cart is $3,880

WHAT?

You're telling me that I can save $700 bucks on the winter room discount? No way...that can't be right! Even with everything added...it's still less than the play, stay, dine, and save? Really?!

Yep, room discounts for deluxe resorts are often a way better deal than free dining.

I didn't double check your numbers but that is probably correct. When staying at a deluxe level resorts I have found that the room only discount often creates the greatest savings -- especially when the discounts are 30-37%.
