Okay I'am hoping I understand this dinning plan so I figured I would do a outline of what a typical day of eating would be and tell me if Im right. So theres 3 of us my wife me and my little princess.
Breakfast would be out of pocket lunch we would eat at magickingdom we will say
Pinocchio Village Haus (quick service)
Daughter picks:fried chicken strips $6.89
soda $2.09

Wife Picks : Fried chicken strips $6.89
milk Shake $3.69

Meizza combo $8.09
soda $2.09 Total lunch=$29.74

Main Street Popcorn Cart (snacks)
Box of popcorn each $2.79 x 3 = $8.37

Chef Mickey's Buffet (sit Down)
29.99 buffet
29.99 buffet
14.99 buffet=$74.97

Total price for food all day was $113.08 and everything was coverd by DDP?

My question is what about snacks like Smoking turkey legs are they covered as snack?Sorry for posting on the wrong board please move.

Tips are not included and on the main restaurant page ther is an area all about disney dining plan. In this area ther is a great threan about dining and another GREAT one which includes all confirmed 2009 snack choices. Def check this out it helped me sooo much!!

OP you would also get dessert included with your CS meal for your lunch as posted so add in that amount as well. You would pay tip on your dinner at CM based on the $74.97. So out of pocket for the day would be based on what you tip for your dinner. As you can see, you come out ahead of the game in this scenario. Keep in mind that you get dessert with ALL of your CS meals. And if you eat TS at a restaurant other than a buffet, say at Coral Reef, you also get dessert with that as well. You mention DW choosing a shake; just ask before ordering if that is included in the plan. Some restaurants say yes, and some say no. If it is no, she may be able to order it as her dessert. Hope you have a great time. Poster asks about Turkey Legs. They are not included as snack but can be used as CS. They run around $6 or so.

It is covered by the DDP, but your daughter couldn't order the chicken strips at Pinocchio's Village Haus. She'd have to order an item off of the kids menu, so her lunch value would be $4.50 total (you'll still save on the plan, just a little less and lose the flexibiilty to order what she wants off of the menu)

I'll move this over to the DDP board so you get some more answers.

To PP, turkey legs do not count as snacks. Some places you can get the leg & a soda as a counter service meal.

To the OP, on the quick service meals, the milkshake may not be covered. Most counter service places your beverage choice on the Dining plan is soda, tea, coffee or bottled water. Also, you left the desserts off...on the dining plan, you get a dessert with your meals at counter service & table service. So add another $3.50 or so per adult to your tally (although wife may be able to get the milkshake as her "dessert" - some places allow that.)

And your choices are among the least expensive uses for the dining plan.

For comparison, chicken strips at counter service, and dinner buffets for table service are "cheap" meals by Disney standards. On the Dining Plan...if you go someplace like Le Cellier/Epcot you could get the Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - Served with wild mushroom risotto and white truffle-herb butter sauce - $34.99, and the wife get the New York Strip Steak - Served with balsamic red onions, watercress, and roasted Yukon potatoes finished with Bercy butter. - $34.99; a soda each @ $3.00 apiece, and for dessert, Chocolate-on-Chocolate Whiskey Cake - Chocolate cake brushed with Canadian whiskey, layered with chocolate mousse, and finished with honey thyme anglaise. - $7.99 for each of you. The children's meals run in the neighborhood of $7.59. That's $99.55 for just your dinner meal that day. Some counter service meals run as much as $15 each for adults - so your counter service total could be close to $40 on the DDP with 2 adult meals & a child's meal (Flametree Barbeque's ribs or chicken combo platter for an example of the $15 lunch)

My question is what about snacks like Smoking turkey legs are they covered as snack?Sorry for posting on the wrong board please move.

No, they aren't considered a snack. You can, however, get them with a drink & chips as a quick service meal. My kids usually split one on our DHS day because they love those things and don't get them in the real world except at the local Renaissance festival.

Like others have said...
children 3-9 have to order off of children's menu

For counter service, you and your wife get a meal, a drink and a dessert

For the buffet...depending on when you are going, there could be a holiday surcharge (and it doesn't have to be a holiday...basically peak season is considered for the holiday surcharge)...this could add $12 or so to 3 people eating...BUT the price for DDP is the same this time of year as any other

Also, if you were paying out of pocket, you would have to pay tax...it is included with the DDP

But you would have to pay tip at Chef Mickey if you were on the plan or not
