Is this reasonable for December touring?

Since we are going Dec 8-15, I was thinking that I don't necessarily have to follow specific touring plans. I figured I would make a list of the rides we really wanted to do, make those a priority, but not stress about it. We are going with a 2.5 and 4.5 year old and need to remain somewhat flexible. We ARE planning on going at park opening because the kids are early risers and will be up and raring to go anyway. Is it crazy to forget the tour plans or do you think I'll be okay in December?

While it's true that December is low season and the crowds are much lower than regular and/or peak season, it would still be wise to use a touring plan for the parks. I believe in using every advantage possible.

We don't have kids, but have gone to WDW twice in December, both times were the week after your visit. The crowds were low, but the info on "best days" and basic touring plan info was a must, especially last year, which was much busier than it was in 2003. Happy planning! Maggie

You will probably have no problems during that time. It is a beautiful time in the parks - I love all the holiday "stuff"!

Go, enjoy, be flexible. I'm all for the going with a loose plan just so you aren't wandering aimlessly (believe me when we first moved here - we did that.....) around the park from side to side!

I always have our guests look at the map and tell me the things they want to do most, and we wing it from there!

I think anytime you can be at the parks early is a plus! Even yesterday DD and i arrived around 8:30 (park opened at 8:00), for breakfast ADRs, and until about 11am, the park was very "quiet" in my opinion!

We went almost those exact dates this past Dec. I thought the crowd levels were great and we didn't race through the parks. We also are at the parks right at opening (up and at 'em!) and we found that we could cover almost every park within the first three hours...while most others were still dusting off their toothbrushes! We did not stick to a touring plan on that trip, although I still made a mini plan of attack each morning (like head straight to Soarin' and TT in EPCOT, etc) so we didn't have to waste time in lines.

But definitely take it slow, enjoy the crowds, and check out all those beautiful Christmas decorations!!

:yay:

We were there Dec. 3-16 2004 and felt like we had the place to ourselves. Everything was a walk on or at most 3-5 except for Fantasyland in the afternoons which were about 20 minutes.

We were there two years agoa at this time. Wonderful. A rough plan, with a few priorities as as starting points each day is enough of a plan. Being there early will be a huge advantage. Your kids are a great age for a trip, and early December is very magical!!

Enjoy!

For that time of year, I would have the parks that I was going to go to each day and perhaps where I would hop but once in the anythnig is game. I am going in October with ds4 and dont have a detailed plan. Just what parks on what days and some ADR's. Have a great one!

I tend to over organize but I would at the very least.
1~ Decide what day you will be at what park. I usually check the magic hour schedule.
2~ Make a list of “must dos” (rides, shows characters)
3~ Make APs

We've been the last two years the week before you are going...I'd have a plan as to what parks what day to take advantage of EMH etc. I'd also take a look at the maps the night before and have a general idea of how you want to walk around....otherwise I find you could do a lot of criss crossing. You shouldn't have any problems with lines so just go where your kids will be happy. :cool1:
