Is this really it for 2012 DDP choices?

Do you know if the 2012 DDP list of restraunts is complete or all they still adding some? I noticed quite a few missing when looking at the pamphlet on WDW website this afternoon. I guess it doesnt have to be "completed" until people needing Jan '12 ADR need to start booking 180 days out...but just wondering, is this usually the way it is? This will be our first trip using the DDP so I didnt know.

It happens every year.

Restaurants owned and operated by Disney are included in the first release, because it's known that they'll be participating. Restaurants not owned and operated by Disney have until the end of the year to sign the contract for the next year. Since the contracts for 2012 are not signed, they cannot be added to the information.

However, in the history of the DDP, there has been only 1 restaurant ever that did not renew the DDP contract: Fulton's. Every other restaurant that has been on the DDP is still on (well, except any that don't exist anymore ). While it's never guaranteed that whichever restaurant(s) you're looking for will be on for 2012, it's very highly likely that they will renew.

The only thing I would add is that the list will not be complete for folks booking early in 2012. It will take some faith.
The "stragglers" haven't traditionally signed until late in the calendar year.

I wondered this too... In looking at the DTD counter service there were none listed so I called Disney to ask... (as you know not all CM have/give the correct info) that being said... the 1st CM I spoke to told me there will only be "TS" in DTD... so I called back and spoke to another and she was alot more helpful... explained that there are more to be added to the list, just hadn't been added as of yet... good to hear as I would be disappointed if there were no counter service in DTD... CMs typically go by what they see at the time. They also can't really give out any more information that's not published as it's possible it could bite them in the end. So if you ask a CM today "is this it?" they'll likely tell you "yes". It's safer for them to list a smaller list than have a single restaurant wrong.

Plus, I'm sure there's a training/experience thing where they don't know about the end of year date and the contracts, brochure reprinting, and all that fun.

I was so sad to see that La Cantina de San Angel (our favorite QS restaurant) wasn't on there! Knowing that they have until the end of the year to sign their contract makes me feel much better! Thanks!
