Is this really a good idea? (FA's in 6-in spike heels)

I just had to post this. A week ago I was on an Airtran flight and one of the FA's was wearing a pair of shoes that caught my eye. I debated taking a photo of her feet but decided against it, but here is a photo of a very similar pair of shoes to the ones she was wearing:

The heels were at least 5 inches high, and probably closer to six. Spiffy-looking shoes, I'll admit, but are heels this high really a good idea for someone working on her feet in a moving aircraft? (And I know that some FA's carry two pairs of shoes, one for onboard use and another that looks sharper with the uniform, but I paid attention, and she kept these on for the entire flight.)

There was a lot of turbulence on that flight, and I saw her wobbling several times. It just seemed weird to me that shoes this high would be acceptable for work for someone who is supposed to be concerned with safety issues.

A good weapon if needed!

I can't wear shoes like that because they're so darn uncomfortable.

Also if you look at the shoe the platform in the front is at least 2 inches if not more bringing the heel down to about 3 inches actually. It is no different than walking in a 2 1/2 to 3 inch heel. If you wear heels all the time they are comfortable and if you are used to them you can do almost anything in a heel. Look at dancers.

My wife thought I was nuts when I spent 4 days at DL in a pair of steel toe Danner work boots.

I'd rather wear boots over shoes any day.

Im laughing to myself that you noticed the flight attendants shoes, most of the time its almost as if we are invisible...people roll over our feet with bags, dont remove their headphones to listen to us, chat amongst themselves when we do the safety demo and forget to say please and thank you when ordering drinks and find it hard to stop playing their electronic game long enough to grab the drink that we are patiently waiting to hand them. Ok rant over.
Ok back to the shoes, most of us carry an extra pair of shoes usually flats that we use inflight. I have worked with quite a few people though that find a really comfy pair of heels and find it easy to work the entire flight in them....or they may have forgotten their inflights. She might have been a new hire, they usually stick pretty strictly to the uniform regs! Or they may be short and cant reach the overhead bins LOL

I'm always thrilled to say I'm a Boston girl, but never as proud as now. Those guys are incredible!! Loved the Boston Ballet before, but even more so now!!! Holy cow!!!:dance3:
