Situation; a friend of mine has a daughter whose husband contracted a food born illness. The daughter has been exposed and requires blood work and vaccination, and has made an appt. with my DH. The children will be seen by a pediatric ID guy. My friend, whom I seldom hear from called last night and said; "I have eaten there and change the baby's diapers, etc, should I be seen?" I spoke with DH and he said that SHE could come in today with her daughter. At 11:02 (their appt was at 11) she called ME and asked where the office was.
So already they are late. A couple of minutes later, her cell number rings back to my house and there is another voice on it, a male. He had the "wrong" number. It didn't take long to figure out that she was bringing her husband! I called DH's sec'ty and not only did she bring her husband but a total of 8 people came in including the NANNY!!! Don't they think that there are other patients scheduled? I hope they all have insurance. This could be costly!

I would bill the unscheduled patients as emergency visits!
