I was going to call this morning and book the Ardastra Gardens excursion in Nassau. This leaves at 12:45pm....
would it be possible to get off the ship and wander around and then get back on the ship to leave on the excursion?
If I remember correctly isn't the straw market right by the dock?

Once in port....you can come and go as you please. Just make sure you have your photo id and KTTW card.

Yes, the straw market is at the end of the pier. Did you think that DCL limits the number of times you can get on or off the ship???
As I said as long as you have your KTTW card and photo id...you can get on and off the ship as many times as you want. Also, just make sure you are back on board in plenty of time before sailaway!!!

We did this. We're not much on shopping, but wanted to check out the local stores and visit Del Sol. So, we plodded off the ship about 9 and we were back onboard about 10:30.

It mostly depends on what kinda shopping you plan on doing!!
