Is this possible???

I agree with damo - especially if you have an express pass - you do not really need to plan too much except for maybe which do you want to do first? Booking a room might be cheaper than buying express passes. You won't have to lug your entire luggage - just a small over night bag - you really don't even have to sleep there. Maybe just use it to change after you get wet on Jurrasic River (which you might get very wet).

We never, ever do a touring plan at Universal. We don't even preplan which park we're going to first since we go to both each day. We rarely, and I mean twice in 15 years. reserve a restaurant in advance. Universal is definitely a "What do you want to do next?" vacation.

WOW!!! So hard to believe after coming from Disney!!! Guess I will go with the last plan I posted. It is pretty much a hit the ride or show as we get to it type of plan. This should be a refreshing change from Disney's plan every minute. Looking forward to trying out Universal!

since you are only going for one day and doing both parks, do keep a plan in mind.
eat at off times to avoid crowds even if it is counter service.
leave any water rides for last so you aren't walkng around the park later in the day and get blisters on the feet.
wet socks can cause that...

and learn the layout of the parks on www.universalorlando.com so you will have an idea where the rides are located.
know in advance where the restrooms and first aid are located.

just trying to help you not waste time on the day you are there.

be sure to pick up the park guide map when you enter the parks.
it will list hours of shows, locations of everything in the park, etc.

when you first enter and near the ticket booths, look to see if any rides are down for the day.
that can happen but not often.

quite a few of us posters do stay on site and for numerous days.
i do like damo, i take the day as it is when i wake up, but, i'm there for 13 days.

those doing a one day two park, should have an idea of the "can't miss" rides/shows.
i looked at your tenative plan again and think it will be fine.

i start my trip at the motherland and stay onsite at their resorts.
i have plans for disney as i had to make my adr's and fp+ months back.
i don't want to miss out on certain things so i need a plan for those parks.
the darkside, i don't.
i treat it as a vacation and relax and do what i want on a whim sometimes.

Just as a guide, my kids did the entire Universal park yesterday, a very low crowds day. They used single rider lines and express passes and did EVERYTHING in the park. It took them 7 hours and they just worked their way around the park and had a quick service lunch.

Since you want to do both parks, the one thing you do need to plan is what you are going to skip in order to get everything done in both parks that you want.

Thanks for all your help you have been great!!! Yes I am one that actually likes to plan in advance so I have studied both maps and that is how I developed my tentative plan. The most important thing I learned at Disney was making sure we were flexible. If every one in our group gets to do a least one thing that they set as a priority I feel that we had a successful trip. As far as the water rides go I plan on dressing the kids in clothes that will dry quickly. We have one water ride planed but seems it will be in the middle of our trip so not sure what is best there. Thought about bringing an extra pair of socks but may not help if the shoes get soaked. I will be sure to tell everyone how it goes for us. In the mean time I will be checking disboards often

Wow that does give me a better idea. Guess we will have our plan but will just need to be flexible. Depending on time and how it goes for us we can adjust the plan as needed

pack a bag with quick dri tops and swim bottoms for the kids.
sandals for the feet.
change them before the water ride and who cares if they get wet then.

change them back to the dry clothes they had on previously, put the wet clothes in the bag tand take it to the family locker then finish the park.

if you use the family lockers in the front of the studios, you can open and close them all through the day with no extra charge.
think it was $12 or 13 for an entire day. one total price for entire day.

cheaper to use them if you want to store other items in there that you can retrieve periodically for the family.
i'm thinking food snacks, change of clothes, purse, money, car keys , etc.

or just carry a small bag for the water rides and use the locker closest to that ride.
change for the water ride, towel off once off the ride, change back to regular clothes then. and shoes.

might be a lot of work but you would avoid getting blisters on wet socks rubbing against the shoes.
go when it is hot, and clothes will dry quickly.

but then you have idiots like me that puts the quarters in the machine and water shoots the dry peeps in the ride.
duddly ride, the wound wraft ride i am thinking about.

i do have an evil side and a kind side to me.
i know the littles want to get splashed so i try to help.
then i run like heck when the mom of the group doesn't like it.

i do't di this all the time.
i do it when the kids whine tey didn't get wet on the ride.
just trying to spread the love.....

Love it!!! Great ideas!!! Love the hummor!!! You would fit right in our family!!

An alternative for the rapids ride - when you get inside the raft, many people whip off their shoes and socks and stuff them in the middle covered) compartment to stay dry. You need to wear your shoes to get ON the ride, but not when you get off.

It didn't work so well for me though as my son asked to ride it 3 times. By the 3rd time, it wasn't worth pulling my wet shoes off.

What we did another time was to pack our flip flops/crocs in our park bag. Changed out for the water rides, stuffing out shoes into an extra drawstring bag. Later, we changed back to our sock and shoes. Personally, I don't like the hassle of going back to a locker at the front of the park so we prefer to carry a few extra flip flops with us.

I do try to plan it for a pool day. We'll get soaked on the water rides, the hit the pool :)

It's a good thing you have a plan - it's a lot to fit into 1 day!

I am a little confused! Where is the middle covered compartment? Is it actually on the raft? This could be a great idea!! Yeah this will be our most challenging day to fit everything we listed in. I know we will have to be flexible and each person will have to list a priority ride/activity.

On Popeye and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges, there is a middle compartment, covered in plastic. Should fit up to a mid sized backpack (it has4 compartments)
