newbie here, so please don't think these are dumb questions

If I make an ADR for 7:30 at Kona for breakfast, can we make it to MK by 9:00 for rope drop?

should I instead make it for 7:00 at Grand Floridian? it looks like those are two of the resorts closest to MK right?

we are staying offsite and will have a rental car. can I drive to whichever resort we are eating breakfast at and pay to park there for the whole day? is that allowed? then, can we just take the monorail to the park from either of those two resorts, and at the end of the night just take the monorail back to the resort, grab the car, and drive back to our hotel? we will be staying for MNSSHP this night (9/14) if that makes a difference.

thank you so much, still trying to figure out how this all works.

The resorts all have signs that say "We cannot provide theme park parking". Diners are limited to three hours in the lot. So no, you cannot park there while you go to the park.

What you need to do is park at the ticket and transportation center (TTC). You can easily walk from there to the Poly for breakfast at Kona, or monorail to the GF.

No, they don't allow parking at the resorts in order to visit the parks. You can park at TTC and take the monorail to the resorts, or even walk to the Polynesian. If you have a dining reservation they will give a 3 hour parking pass at the resorts.

Probably, but make sure you check in at Kona 15 minutes before your ADR.

I would choose based on what restaurant appeals more to you.

You can't park in the regular lot at the resort and then stay all day, but you can pay ($12, i think) to valet park at the resort and stay all day. Don't forget to tip both when you drop the car off and when you pick it up - but it will still only cost you a few dollars more than parking in the TTC. Totally worth it in my opinion.

It doesn't.

i think your better option is GF. You don't pay to park at the resorts to eat. when you go to eat you check in and can park there for your meal. you are not suppose to park in the resort parking lot unless you are a guest there or are eating a meal.

If you choose the Grand Floridian, seriously consider valet parking, as the self parking lot at GF is small.

ok so I could park at TTC, walk to the Polynesian and then take the monorail from Poly to MK? then at the end of the night, what is the best way to get back to TTC to get the car from MK? do you take the monorail there?

You can either take the monorail or the ferry.

But seriously, I would just valet park at the Poly - they'll let you stay there all day. It's going to cost you about $18 including the tip (which is only $4 more than you would pay to park at the TTC) and it will save you quite a bit of time.

That is a really, REALLY long day. A 7:30 breakfast means you have to check in at 7:15. To check in at 7:15, you should probably be at the TTC parking lot around 6:45 so you can hop on one of the first monorails to the Poly.

And then after that, you are going to stay at MK from rope drop until the end of MNSSHP at midnight? If you really can handle that kind of day, then I definitely bow down to you. :worship: I hope you have a relaxing pool day planned the next day.
