I promised DD9 that I would give her XX $$ for spending money at WDW. I don't want her to be carrying around cash, but want her to have the funds available whenever she wants to spend it, without having to ask me to give her some of her money. Can I request that she be able to charge that amount of $$ on her KTTW card? If yes, what happens if she doesn't use it all?

I don't know the answer to that. But if that doesn't work what about a disney gift card. Or better yet an American Express gift card that way if all the money wasn't spent while at Disney it could still be spent anywhere at home?

I was thinking a visa card or disney dollars. give her a certain amount each day say $20 and when it is gone it is gone. My kids dont even ask now. My rule is if i say maybe I am thinking about it.. If you ask again it turns into a NO .With 5 kids I didnt stand a chance otherwise. Plus it is amazing what kids decide to buy knowing thats all the money they get for the day , or i let them decide to hold the money till the end and buy 1 special bigger thing. The only "requirement" is they have to buy something small for there Autistic brother because he is at home with grams. They love searching for a "Special Suprise " for Mike so that ends up being alot of fun for them too.

Disney dollars can be purchased at the Disney store or online(I think). The come in 1, 5, & 10 and have the different charaters on them.

I think you can put a set cash amount on her room key and she can spend that way. I am not positive, but that is what we always do because I hate to carry cash. They will probably ask you for a CC number to secure it with.

I don't think that minors can us the KTTW cards. I saw a little boy try to buy a poncho at WDW with his and the CM said no can do and said he had to bring a parent. I don't believe they put charging privileges on minors, and will not be able to use yours. I think the Gift Card is your best bet. It is all inclusive and is just one thing to keep track of vs. multiple paper monies.

Yes there are a ton of fees with the American Express. You have to pay extra to buy it, you have to pay to use it, a monthly fee of 2.50.

If the money is for disney I would suggest the disney gift card which can be used anywhere at the parks and resorts.

Also, with some of the credit card gift cards you have to know exactly how much is on your card for them to work. Not a problem the first time, but once you make a few purchases it can become difficult to remember.

with the visa card i didnt think there were charges to use it but there was a fee when i first put money on it. i think after a year it charges some sort of fee. With my kids the money didnt last long though. We use a sharpie marker to write the ballance on them.Its easier then trying to keep up with the reciets all the time.

Last July our 5yo and 2.5yo got Disney GC from my parents for $100 each for the week we were there. They LOVED having a "visa" with Mickey on it!
