We are looking to visit LA for the first time from the UK, is it possible to do the following parks in 7 days??????

Disneyland
Disney Adventure Park
Seaworld
Universal
Knotts Berry Farm
Six Flags Magic Mountain

Any advice greatly received.

Regards
Claire

I would say yes but it would be quite exhausting. For Universal I would recommend the VIP tour and get an early slot as it gets you onto the major attractions and you get a personal back lot tour which is in a group of about 20 people, so you can stop off and get better pictures :)

As for DL and DCA we did that in 3 leisurely days. To be honest no keen on Six Flags very disorganised and such a wait for some of the rides.

Also Seaworld is in San Diego so a few hours each way.

We love California are you visiting San Francisco as it is a wonderful city so much to see and do.

Claire ;)

It is doable but you would be very exhausted. Depending on where you stay (Anaheim?), you'll have at least a 1 1/2 hour drive to San Diego for Sea World. Count on at least an hour to get to Magic Mountain. MM and Knott's Berry Farm have similar rides. You may just want to choose one of the two; or just go to Knott's for the chicken dinner...you don't need park admission to do this.

You may just want to substitute a day walking around Hollywood rather than fitting in a theme park, or maybe a drive to Santa Monica or Malibu to see the sites!

You could do DL and DCA in 2 days if you hustle. You can do Sea World in one day but it is 1 1/2 to 2 hours away from DL. We haven't been to Knotts or Magic Mountain, so I can't help on that. We did Universal in 1/2 day, but we were very tired and didn't want to keep doing amusement parks. My 9 yo at the time said he was "done" with theme parks!!! We headed to the beach and played.

I would also vote for skipping some parks and seeing Hollywood and the Beach! We spent a short visit at La Brea Tar Pits before we left on the train! We like beaches: Huntington Beach especially but also enjoyed Newport, Laguna and even Redondo!

Enjoy your trip no matter what you end up doing!

It also depends on if you have kids and if you are going to drive yourself or rely on public transportation. It's a lot of travel and you'll lose part of the day (probably a quarter if you drive, up to half if you take public transportation) so you won't have a whole day at any of the parks, except those geographically close to where you are staying.

If you really like thrill rides, then Magic Mtn is fine, but if not then it's not worth going to. If you skip it, then you might consider adding the San Diego Zoo. It's an amazing zoo and worth seeing.

You should consider doing them in geographic order (if renting a car). Start either in San Diego or Magic Mtn and then work north or south, respectively.

Overall, IMHO you might reduce the number of parks down to five. That way you won't be so rushed moving around the southern part of the State.

I agree. You would be tired, but it you would have a lot of memories.

I think you're going to need one day on your trip to sleep in. I remember the summer my cousins came out from Texas. We were in the 13-15 age range. We were on the go everyday, going to different theme parks. By the time we went to Marineland (I'm dating myself) we were fallling asleep during the shows. My dad was so mad at us (dang it - have fun! lol), but it taught me to be sure to have rest time.

Depending on the time of year you go, it's always a good idea to get somewhere right when it opens.

Having said that, you might be able to tailor your visits so that you can sleep in or go to bed early

Disneyland -- This is an all-day event -- you should be there open to close
Disney Adventure Park -- Usually opens at 10am & closes at 6pm or 8pm. I recommend making this a short day & just hitting the highlights
Seaworld - I think it's open 10-5 - It'll take 1.5-2 hours to get there & return, so keep that in mind
Universal -- this is about a 3/4 day park. Even though it's better to arrive early, you might want to sleep in, and invest in the front-of-the-line passes to maximize your time without wearing you out
Knotts Berry Farm - Again, probably a 3/4 day. Sleep in, and just enjoy the park until you're ready to go home
Six Flags Magic Mountain -- This is going to take you awhile to get there -- Only open on the weekends during non-peak season, so check the hours here.

Have a great time!
