We are in the process on clsing on DVC purchase, and have 2005 banked points (100) that need to be used by end of July. I would love to go down first weekend of dec with just son and I for little father/son trip. Problem is that I cannot book yet and really don't HAVE my points yet. Do people that have a trip upcoming somwtimes trade banked points that are going to expire with their bankable points? Can u do this? does it hurt the person trying to help out. I don't want to scam Disney or someone will to help but I see it that if someone going somewhere in sring with 2006 or 2007 points, could tehy just switch out. As a family we won't return till sept 2007. Do I need to pay a incentive for the help. Sorry long winded but I figure somebody has run into this before. Thanks in advance fir any help or direction provided.

PS I guess I could try and rent points and then sell mine but I don't want to outlay any more cash than I have too.

I will address this section of your question. Before we recently closed, I was asked several times by DVC Member Services if I wanted to make a ressie. If you really want to go in December, I would call Member Services or your guide to find out if you can do ressies. Then the issue becomes whether there is room at the inn so to speak for that time of the year on this much short notice. But it does not hurt to try it may be possible.

I called MS yesterday to see if there was anything available anywhere (didn't expect availablilty). There was a grand villa at SSR for 1 night, but everything else was sold out. The dates I checked were Dec 4-9. I did not check non-DVC resorts.
