Is this possible? Gift card question.

For Christmas, my parents got DH and I a gift card to use for our family Disney trip in February.

It's going to cover most of our expenses while on the trip (I hope) since we are on the dining plan. She already bought the gift card from Kroger.

Does anyone know...would it be possible to return the $500 gift card to Kroger and exchange it for two $250 gift cards? Basically, splitting our money down the middle so that DH and I would both have access to it without having to pass the card back and forth.

I'm also concerned about having that much money on ONE gift card. What if we lose it...is there some kind of replacement system?

I highly doubt that you can return the giftcard. I would just add it to your account when you check in and they use your room keys to charge your purchases. You would then both have access to the money.

If you are staying onsite, just charge everything back to your room. You can stop by and pay the bill with the gift card up until midnight before checkout.

I had several gift cards during our trip. I found it a pain to keep track of. I just went down to the front desk and applied them to the room...easy!

Duh! Thanks you all! Yes we are staying on-site, and I will feel better knowing we don't have to carry a gift card around. Don't know why I didn't think of this solution. :)
