Is this points/cash combo possible?

I'm wondering...Would it be possible to book a studio with points and a 1br w/cash (if I don't have enuf points to do a 2 br) and have them connecting so it essentially is a 2 br? It would be just a one night stay that's why I can't do a point/cash combo any other way.

OK so I guess this is a ridiculous question - and I guess the answer is "no"?
And I understand that I couldn't combine cash and points on one night in a 1br or studio but I thought maybe I could do it with a 2br lock-off.

We've booked a couple of times on cash and points. For example, we booked in Dec '07 in a 1BR at SSR for 12 nights. We didn't have all the points we needed nor could we get 12 consecutive nights on points but we did manage to get 12 consecutive nights using points and cash combined. I can't remember exactly but it worked out something like 1st 2 nights cash, next 6 on points, next night cash, last 3 pionts. The CM linked all the reservations so we didn't have to check in/out during our stay. It took her some time work it out but she was very helpful.

It sounds like you're really looking for a 2BR. I'm sure you could do something similar, i.e. paying for the weekend nights and using points during the week to minimize the # of points and cash.

Yes, but I'm talking about just a one night stay - I have enough points for a 1 br but I'd like a 2br so I was thinking maybe I could pay for a studio w/cash and request they be connecting. But I am now thinking this is not possible.

I think the best you could do would be to request that the two rooms are adjoined, however, there would be no guarantee of that happening.
