Is This Plan Realistic?

My boyfriend and I will have one day at Universal/Islands of Adventure with Express Pass in late August. Neither of us have ever been before so we don't really have a point of reference. Does this look like a realistic touring plan for the day?

Universal: E.T. --> Men in Black --> Hogwarts Express
Islands of Adventure: Forbidden Journey --> Spider-Man --> Reign of Kong --> Cat in the Hat --> Seuss Trolley Train Ride --> Poseidon's Fury --> Hogwarts Express
Universal: Leaky Cauldron --> Escape from Gringotts --> Terminator 2 --> Shrek --> Despicable Me --> Transformers

Is it possible to accomplish all of that in one day? Our plan is to be there when the parks open. We will also wander around the lands as time permits. Any chance we will have time to repeat our favorites?

I would switch Spider-Man and Reign of Kong, so you won't have to backtrack. I believe you will be able to do those and more/repeats if you keep a good pace. I see you didn't include Revenge of the Mummy. I'd make sure to find a way to ride it.

many school children are back in school at the end of august or 4th week of that month.
that will take away some of the crowds that month had in the beginning thru middle of it.

probably aim for potter when you first arrive at the park or in the last park hour.
ET, MIB won't take long with the ep.
i get the ep by staying on site and usually use the single rider line for MIB.
it usually gets me on faster than the ep line.
you could be on and off in about 10 minutes for each of them.

FJ, wait will depend ....again, i get in the solo line and get on quickly.
watch the sign that shows use stairs on the left side once you are going to line up for the ride line
this is soon after the locker sections.
you short cut some of the walk thru inside the castle.
(maybe use the short cut after you have done the full line once.)

spidey has srl but not always opened.
T2 is a continous show.
look for the show times in the park guide.
you can pick them up in the front of each park.
not hard to miss them.

If you sail through everything that is on your list of must do rides, repeats can be done easily.

you have a decent chance of riding everything you listed above.
go early, check the time boards in the park for wait times and be flexible to change your schedule of order of the rides you listed above

i never really know what type of a crowd day or line wait i will have until i am in the park that day.
difficult for me to assume it will be a light day since you are going the end of august.

i wish the success in hitting all the rides and having fun at the darkside.

The plan looks pretty good. Just a couple of changes. I think even with express passes, I'd hit Despicable Me first. Second, I'd at least check the wait for Gringotts before heading over to IOA. You could get lucky and find a short wait.

Id plan to ride Forbidden Journey or Gringotts as early as possible b/c those lines get long really fast and tend to stay long allllll day.....also keep in mind that if the park closes at 9pm, you can still get in line at 8:59pm...that is how we managed to ride Forbidden Journey last time we were there....we squeezed every minute our of the day

Even with your EP, Id suggest you definitely arrive early and take advantage of early entry...as in the park opens at 8 am and you are on the bus at 7:30...and down load a wait times app for rides that done accept EP

Also, I think your EP is valid for the day you check in and the next day as well....so could you get a 2 day park ticket so you;d have more time?
