is this odd?

If you've never been, you should checK out innovations over in Tomrrow land.

It's a really nice (Sorta epcot-ish) attraction.

Hey, New Yawker in Los Angeles! I am in L.A. too! My best friend just escaped L.A. to move to New Yawk! I have been into Innoventions before, BUT it was about seven years ago and the best thing we found was the Who Wants to Be A Millionaire game, because the whow was big at that time. I assume some of their games and exhibits have changed over the years We didn't make it inside there the last two times we went to the park. They have the new House of the Future exhibit now, right?

Pink,

I have an AP. I cannot tell you how many times I go to the Park, come home, and the next day have to reply to friends who ask what rides I went on, "None."

I LOVE going to the Park to just enjoy the sights, the people, the shows. There is SOOO much more to do at DL than just the rides. Sometimes I think people miss so much because they focus only on the rides.

Enjoy Disneyland for what you love about it - that's part of the magic.

I agree... Usually when my mom and i go the last day we go on one or 2 rides and we mainly just walk around and this last time we sat by the partner statue for hours just watching people & the dream squad.

sounds like fun! but you could always get on all the rides even with a baby.
Single Rider the big rides! that was the best thing that DL has.
On our DD's 1st trip, she was only 1 1/2 so she obviously couldnt get on the thrill rides, but dh and I traded off waiting while the other used the single rider line.
take the baby with you on the POC and HM.
HAVE FUN!!!

I don't think it's odd to go even if you don't plan on riding rides.
My first first step on any Disney "ground" was years ago at Disneyland. I happened to be in the area on business and happened to be ginormously pregnant (8mo but looking like I was about to have quintuplets or something. LOL Seriously I'm short AND I had way too much fluid and I was ginormous and that's putting it mildly). I had no intentions of riding but I was NOT about to miss out on my first chance to go to "disney"..... and I paid my full price ticket at about 5pm one day after our meetings/etc. and just walked around for a few hours- happy myself and soaking up everyone else's happiness.

It wasn't until that same baby (my son) was then 5yrs old that we finally went to WDW and now our upcoming trip is my next time to go to DL- so it will be my first time to actually ride anything there! :) :) :)

So yeah, I don't think it's odd. I've done it! LOL

I found that the more I went to DL, the less I would ride the rides. I just enjoyed being there. Of course I usually tried to ride the Matterhorn, catch a show of Billy Hill, see Muppets 3D, and (if I had cash on me) enjoy a Dole Whip Float in the Tiki Room (all my favorites). But, other than that, I just enjoyed browsing the shops, people watching, and taking in the atmosphere. Last time I went back to SoCal I had to pay OOP for a ticket and was set on riding a bunch of rides. I think I did at least 10 (which was during the spring break time) and thought I did pretty well. My friend thought it ridiculous to pay that much money and only ride 10 rides. To each her own!

For me it would be odd! I love the rides, and just can't imagine not rushing in and going on as many as I could get on in one day! LOL But I can see where it wouldn't be odd for others, there is so much to do there!

However there are a lot of rides that I just can't handle (stomach wise!). So I do a lot of walking around, going through the shops, or getting something to drink and just take in being there. While my DH and DS are on a ride that I can't take! I really enjoy that time actually. It's peaceful, and it just feels magical being there! My favorite places to lounge like that is overlooking the water in DCA with the view of Screamin and the Sun Wheel. There is almost no one ever over in that area. Lots of places to sit. Also by the Castle in DL of course.

I know exactly what you mean about that little spot overlooking the water in DCA with the view of the rides you mentioned and Orange Stinger - there is NEVER anyone over there and it is such a picturesque location, I don't know why more folks haven't discovered it! My friends and I sit there when we go in to DCA and just stare out as though we are staring at a real ocean! I always half expect to see some sort of dolphin or fish jumping out of the water, even though I know that the most we would see would be a bird. I don't think there are any fish in there.

Don't get me wrong - I could never imagine going to Disneyland and NOT having all those rides there. I mean, sometimes I think I take the rides for granted when I don't go on them each time and I shouldn't because I know that Disney tends to get rid of rides I like, such as Adventures Through Inner Space, People Mover, Motor Boats. One day I could be there and rides I used to ride could be gone forever! Disneyland would not be the same without the rides. And I, too, skip the real stomach-churning attractions. I just can't do those. I am a wimp. But there is so much else to go on and I AM still willing to ride things like Alice in Wonderland, but my friends classify that as a 'kid ride,' and therefore, we don't need to stand in line for it anymore because we are 40! So, we always make several trips onto Pirates during a weekend Disney visit. If it is during the holiday season, we hit Haunted Mansion and Small World several times. I personally love Buzz Lightyear and I am sure I will love Toy Story Mania when I get on it. I also love Star Tours but none of my friends will ride it anymore - they all get motion sickness now. Soarin' is good. I also love Car Toon Spin. Everything else is kind of going on stuff just for the sake of going on it, like Jungle Cruise, in which case, we will skip many rides on many trips and just wander in and out of shops, eat at the restaurants we like, scout out for Hidden Mickeys, people watch, wander over to the hotels to see what is new there, etc.

My perfect Disney weekend trip involves a good blend of all those things. If I can get on only six rides I really LOVE, hit all the shops I love, eat all the food I love, take some really good pictures of the group I am with, spend some good quality time at the hotel, and spot a few Hidden Mickeys along the way, that is a well-rounded and ideal experience for me!
