Is this normal

My 4 year daughter has a very loose front tooth? My dentist says this is common. I have never heard a child losing a tooth this young esp on the top??

From what I've learned about teeth in the last couple years, some kids get teeth very late, some get them very early, some lose them very late, others lose them very early. "Normal" is just an average taken from everyone, so if the "average" age of losing a tooth is 6, that just means that there are bunches of people older than 6 and bunches of people younger than 6 (and perhaps some 6 year olds) all lumped together.

Sounds like it's normal for her! When did you and her father lose your first teeth?

Okay thanks I was starting to freak out lol, The poor girl is going to look so funny with one missing tooth for her b-day parties and then Christmas parties

Mine too. They started coming in at 4 months. She started losing them at age 4.

My niece lost her top 2 front teeth at 4 as well.

My DD5 had loose teeth before turning 5. She actually just turned 5 in mid-August and she has 4 teeth missing already.

DD lost her first tooth 3 weeks before her 5th bday...she swallowed it. she is now 9, will be 10 in Januaray and has lost all her baby teeth and all but one adult tooth is in...CRAZY
