Hi all,

This is my first time posting here! We are waiting to become DVC members.

I know that Disney has 30 days to use or waive ROFR, but it seems that most people know before that. Today is day 20 for us, and it's driving us crazy!

DH called TTs tonight and was told that if we don't hear by this time next week, to call them back then - that will be 27 days! What then?

Has it taken this long for some decisions?

Thanks,

Steph

It depends on when it was submitted. Even if a decision was made this week, they notify the owner by mail and generally not the broker so it can take a few days for you to find out. Hopefully it will work out.

Good luck, and Welcome to the DIS!!

You're looking at at least another 35 years of DVC vacations, so this little wait won't seem so bad in the scheme of things! :teeth:

Best wishes to you...lots of time it's just luck of the draw as to how quickly the ROFR process takes. I think Disney processes them in large batches and if you just missed one it can take a few weeks. We were lucky and heard back within 10 days...just luck.

And welcome to the DIS boards! :)

As I remember, we waited 31 days. Disney chose to waive ROFR by not replying within their window. I don't know how common that is.

Occasionally, we've been seeing some very quick ROFR decisions, and I think that has raised expectations unreasonably.

It took us almost 30 days, and I've seen several that have taken quite a bit longer than 30 days. I've seen a couple go back and forth because of discrepancies in some of the documents, etc.

Bets of Luck with ROFR.

We gave up after 3 attempts and just bought from Disney.

Keep us posted on the results.

Today is day 31 and still nothing. I was hoping - like crisi said - that ROFR was waived because we haven't heard, but TSS said that's not necessarily the case.

TSS said they will check tomorrow - too late now. Thay also said that Disney has 30 days for decision and sometimes notification takes longer than that?

So... fingers crossed for tomorrow!

While in practice it might be hard to proceed, all DVC has the right to do is ask for a notification 30 days prior to closing then you could close without anything form them if you wanted. Since DVC normally notifies the seller directly, make sure that your broker has talked with the seller to see if they've gotten anything from DVC.

I remember it taking almost four weeks for ROFR for us as well. Welcome to the community

I just found out we passed!!!

I posted the stats on the "anyone made it through ROFR recently" thread.

Thanks for your encouragement - the waiting was hard!
