Is this normal when you transplant?

My sister dug up a number of perieannuls from her garden for us yesterday (Columbine, hostus and a liliac bush). We planted them as soon as we got home, put some miracle grow potting soil in the base of each hole, and watered them when we were finished. Everything looks wilted this morning! We went outside again and watered them with Miracle Grow plant food. Are plants that are dug up from another garden then transplanted elsewhere supposed to wilt? Will they come back on their own?? HELP!!

Yup, they get shocked in the transplant process...I bet they will perk up in just a few days! just don't over water or fertilize.

Yes, that is normal. Also, try not to transplant your flowers and other plants when it is really sunny.

We planted them last evening after dinner (6-ish) It's been cloudy and on the cool side here today with occasional light showers. I'll have to check on them tomorrow.

The light showers are perfect for transplanted plants! I did new trees this weekend on Saturday because showers were expected Saturday night. I will be transplanting hostas and columbine this weekend. It still gets down close to feezing here some nights, so I don't like to do it too early. My tulips are beautiful though!

Yup, and (not that I have the best of green thumbs...) I'd stop using the miracle grow fertilizer for now. Save that for a few weeks.
