Is this how you would do it? 4 days with a 2 and 4yo?

We are going back for our second trip (first with DD2) in November. I know that we can't do everything, and we plan to be back (probably many times) so I am trying to keep a relaxed feel to our trip but and having a hard time deciding what to cut. Here is how I have our days so far.

Day 1- MK at rope drop, *break/nap*, dinner at MK
Day 2- Breakfast at Boma, explore- hope to see animals, *break/nap* HS from 3is-7
Day 3- Epcot *break/nap* maybe back to Epcot or to a resort to explore/eat
Day 4- MK, push until about 3-4 then leave to go back home

We will be staying at a MK resort, probably CR or WL and do not want to get park hoppers.

DD1 really wants to see Jake/Sophia and was disappointed that she didn't last trip. I really want to see Osborne lights. I wanted to do a meal at H+V but it is only bf/lunch. I know you can see them in the park so I thought 4 hrs was enough to see them, meet Scully/Mike, do Toy Story, Disney Jr, and Osborne lights. Am I cutting this close?

I am thinking of skipping AK this trip and hope that we can see some animals at AKL. Is this a mistake?

Also, is Epcot a rope drop morning like MK?

My DDs are pretty petite so I know DD1 won't/can't do the bigger rides and I don't see DH and me wanting to ride them alone this trip.

Any thoughts? I am just trying to figure out a very general guideline so I can start to think about ADRs in a couple weeks. Thanks!!

If you are not planning on riding soaring and test track, I don't know that making epcot at RD is that big of a deal. World showcase doesn't open till 11; so maybe do a late breakfast ressie at Akershus(my girls are in love with all the princesses) and then through the showcase before hitting nemo, crush and living with the land on the way out.

If you are staying a MK resort, going to BOMA for breakfast seems a little out of the way, and not sure about seeing the animals. It sound like you are going to have a car so maybe consider staying at AKL; then Boma and exploring the resort looking for animals may be easier.

I would not limit myself to just 4 hours at HS. It is an all day kinda part for us. Especially with all the shows, it takes time to see them b/c of start times. I also highly recommend the H&V character meal, we did a late lunch around 145 and had tons of time with the characters.

Trying to step in your shoes, and since I have a DD2 and DD4, I feel I can relate.

If you just want to see animals, why not stay at AKL? DD4 loved it when she was DD20mos

Depending on budget, why not a breakfast at H&V, do some things, do a daybreak and go back for the lights and perhaps, Fantasmic....again, a favorite of my girls.

you did not mention Doc McStuffins but she is only at H&V. also make sure the Lights are going to happen this year as I have heard they might not, nothing official.

My thought was since we are going two days at MK with trips back to the hotel for naps, a MK resort would be easier. I'm thinking CR will win out for the option to walk and/or take the monorail.

I wanted to use breakfast at Boma as a rest morning for us since it would be a later night at MK and a chance to explore a new resort but I'm not sure I would want to stay out there the whole trip.

Hmm, too many options. I think this is an example of where I just won't be able to fit in all I'd like to do. Thanks for your help!

PS- I've heard Fantasmic is scary for young ones. How did yours do?

fantastic can be scary for little ones, but that depends on each child.
If you want to see Sophia, you should be I'm the park earlier, cause she only greets till about 4:30 or so, also Disney Jr. Shows run until 5 or so as well, so you're gonna be packing too much in those hours between 3ish and 5.
Personally, I would recommend going in the morning, take a break and then go to see the Osbourne lights and Fantasmic.
If you're not doing Animal Kingdom, I think going to see the animals at AK lodge might be a waste of your park ticket on that day. You can always take them to a local zoo for that :thumbsup2
Or, if you wanna take it easy on that day, you can swim in the morning and take an early nap, then head to HS around 1:30 or 2.
I know that those mid day breaks are necessary for little kids, but can be tiring for adults lol , specially since HS is not on the monorail and it takes longer to get there.

Our little ones have always napped in the carrier or stroller, so we've never had to go back to resort for naps. Such a waste of time, I'm glad we've never had to do that, lol. Just want to say, fantasmic isn't scary...well at least for our kids. I never knew some kids are scared by it. It's an awesome show! I think your plan sounds good....but we've also been to disney a few times and would be fine with only spending a few hours at HS and EP because we know what to skip. Our first trip we spent the whole day at each park and we still weren't able to do anything, and that was with 1 kid! When we do go, we always plan on 2 days in MK, so you're on the right track. Just plan on taking it slow....and most of all enjoy!

I'd probably skip DHS totally, but that's our least favorite.

I'd do 2 days in MK, 1 in Epcot and the other day can be your AK day. I wouldn't pay for a 4th day of ticket to only got to DHS for a few hours.

We do breaks but we did breaks w/o kids. My kids do sleep on the go when traveling but we like to swim and relax ourselves.
