Relatively new DVC owners at CCV - only 2 trips under our belt - and we will be booking a June 2020 trip to Aulani as soon as our 7 month window opens up in November 2019. I'm suddenly feeling paranoid about banking/borrowing for that trip. Can you experts be sure I'm thinking of this right?

We have a March use year and plan to use 450 points for our stay. We have 157 points left in the 2019 UY and we'll bank those by October 31. Plus 175 points coming March 2020, so now we're up to 332. We plan to borrow the remaining 118 from our March 2021 use year. All that works, right??? And the fact that I'm booking in November 2019, during our 2019 UY, doesn't limit me to only 2019 and 2020 points, right??? Because we're using the points at Aulani during our 2020 UY, right???

Am I getting that even close to correct? I just got super paranoid that I won't actually be able to borrow points from the 2021 use year and don't want to be surprised by that bright and early in the morning when our window opens. THANK YOU!

So UY matters not really for booking but rather for the day of the trip. So because your trip is June 2020 that means you are in your March 2020 UY. Therefor you can bank any March 2019 points by 10/31/2019 into your March 2020 UY. This gives you the 332 you referenced. You then can borrow your March 2021 UY into March 2020. The only thing to note is banking and borrowing are final transactions. So if you cancel your trip your borrowed March 2021 point expire 2/28/2021 and can't be placed back into the original UY. However, your March 2020 UY points would still be eligible for banking.

I do a little scribble to figure things out:
June 2020 trip is in 2020 use year
3/1/19 - 2/29/20 = 157 points bank to ‘20
3/1/20 - 2/28/21 = 175 current points to use
3/1/21 - 2/28/22 = 175 points
borrow 118 into ‘20
