Are you actually girls or middle aged men. Because then that could be kind of scary.
I think you knew the answer before you posted the question and really either wanted confirmation or wanted back-up to convince your friend.Shagley said:Thanks for all the quick replies. I will go with the rest of the costume and just use a plain white shirt for the MNSSHP (or use a vest for all of my fake patches so the back of the shirt can't be seen). The other t-shirts will be funny in a more adult setting, but I won't take the chance of offending anyone at the MNSSHP. I appreciate all of your opinions.

Minnie's Mate said:by providing nothing more than teasing titilation for the "grown men" that are there with their wives and families. I suspect the other "events" you will be attending will be private parties, or at least less public than MNSSHP. What you do at private parties is quiet different than what you do in public, such as MNSSHP.
Shagley said:and no, the patch does not refer to her "cookies".

There was a reference to pot in earlier editions of the Unoffical Guide to Disney and some people got SO offended by it.

Shagley said:My friend and I will be attending the MNSSHP, and I had questions whether or not our costumes would offend anyone. We will both be dressed as girl scouts (hat, sashes with fake patches, cargo shorts, etc), and the back of our shirts have a picture of a girl scout cookie and they say "Don't you love my cookies". This of course is referring to the fact that we are posing as Girl Scouts and Girl Scouts sell cookies. We meant the shirt as a joke, but then I started thinking that someone could possibly be offended by that. I really don't want anyone offended, so if most people feel we should not wear them to the MNSSHP, I won't.
What is your opinion, would you be offended by this shirt?

Again, I think you are using descression and that is admirable. I am certain that your attributes, both physical and social, are very pleasant. You at least have the decency to seek the council of your peers in this matter. I would not find your shirt objectionable in an adult social setting, I just think this is not one of them.Shagley said:Just so it is clear (not to you Minnie's Mate - but to anyone reading), our costumes are not skimpy or sexy in any way. It is cargo shorts (almost knee length), and t-shirts that are more baggy than tight. So even though the saying on the t-shirt may be risque, nothing about the rest of the costume will be. Trust me, there is nothing on this body that would provide "teasing titilation" for anyone, and there is NO WIFE that would feel threatened by my presence![]()
Also, I posted this because I kind of suspected that some people could be offended by the shirts, but my friends kept assuring me that they were funny and not offensive at all and saying that I was "overthinking" this. I figured by posting on the DIS I would find out for sure what I should do - and I could use the DIS to support my case (or to prove me wrong).
Edited to add: We are not really mocking the Girl Scouts, just pretending that we are the world's oldest (and largest) Junior Girl Scouts - my friend (who is 5'10") even made a patch that says - "Biggest growth spurt - 2005" - and no, the patch does not refer to her "cookies".
Last year, I was there for MNSHP and there was a group of 6 adult (gay) men, all dressed as TINKERBELL. I thought is was hysterical. There had hairy legs, chests, etc. Some were not fit and thin, either. They were having a great time, laughing, and I thought, good for them.
