Is this going to be difficult?

Trying to plan our trip and thinking about going to Trail's End buffet at Fort Wilderness for dinner.

We would be coming FROM EPCOT and going TO MK. How hard will this be using Disney transporation? Does FW share transportation with the WL? Are the campgrounds a large area that we will have to walk all over to get to the right bus/boat or is the transportation hub close to the restaurant?

We don't want to spend a lot of time worrying about transportation and could eat someplace else if necessary. Just want to get all the facts first.

Anyone stay or eat at FW regularly and can comment on their transportation? Thanks in advance!

You can get a boat from the MK to FW. When you get off the boat it is a very short walk to Trails End.

Very easy to do.

1.) From Epcot, board the bus marked "Wilderness Lodge & Fort Wilderness"
2.) The bus SHOULD stop at Wilderness Lodge first. Get off here. (Yes, really.)
3.) Board the bus headed to Fort Wilderness (A two minute ride)
4.) Get off at the first stop, called the Settlement Depot
5.) Pioneer Hall is ahead on left.
6.) When done, take boat to Magic Kingdom.

(If you end up forgetting to get off at WL, or the bus stops at FW, exit there, and board any bus marked "Settlement")

Trying to spend the day at EPCOT, head to FW like 6:00ish, and still get to Main St. for Spectromagic at 8. Is this doable or will we have to leave EPCOT sooner?

Trail's End is a buffet, so how long are you planning on eating?

I would leave Epcot (be at the bus stop) no later than 5PM.

And be at the FW boat dock no later than 7PM.

Spectro starts at Main Street. So, if you are a little late, you will miss it.

DH and I ate thre last Sept. We took boat from MK dock to FW and then bus back to resort. You could do just the opposite as another person suggested or you caould take monorail from EPCOT to MK and then boat both ways to FW. . We made ADR's in the morning and were very glad we did as there was a wait for anyone without them. You will need to allow at least the time you have set and maybe a little more depending on what time of year you are going. We had to wait through several boats going to FW because of MNSSHP and everyone who wasn't going that night leaving the MK as the designated hour. Have a great time whatever you decided.

Maybe we should head there on the day we are spending the whole day at MK? It would probably just be easier to take a boat from MK both ways. I could change our schedule around a little.
