We've been trying like heck to get BOG for dinner at a time that would work for us and we now have a res. that we know is too late but we may have to improvise. Dinner is booked for 8:35pm with a Wishes fp+ between 9:35pm and 9:50 pm. If we skip apps, dessert, meeting the beast etc. can it be done? I know it isnt ideal but is it at all doable. It seems to me that if we go in, look around, and simply order a main we should be out by 9:30 at the latest then rush to the fp area and we're in. What do you think? There is also the possibility of getting a little lucky and getting seated early but with the fiasco I've had getting this far I wont hold my breath on that happening. We're not giving up the Wishes fp+ so our only other alternative is to skip BOG once again and I'd rather have a "partial dinner" rather than no dinner at all...lol!

You can enter the Wishes FP+ area as late as 9:59PM, or so.
(Although guests are being admitted as early as 8PM (!) to stake out spots.)

I must caution that BOG can be very backed up.
If you want to keep that ADR, I'd arrive and check-in 30-45 minutes early.

You've carved out a difficult position for yourself.
It may take some sacrifices to try to manipulate the timings.

Every time we have had dinner there we have been seated late-at least 30 minutes past ADR- even with a later ADR of 8:40 a few weeks ago- even though we checked in early. I don't think you will make it and the stress you will be under to do so just isn't worth it, IMO. Can you get a lunch ADR?

Dont we know it  !

Its a long story but we have newbie friends coming on this trip who have been on again off again. We added days so that we could be on property with them, changed resorts, then changed back again, changed around dinners, fp's, (all at their request) and now after all that they've told me that they "may" be hitting the beach instead. To say Im a trifle peeved would be an understatement. The worst part about it is that we werent even going to do Disney this trip...lol. Dh and I have decided that since we'll be on property anyway we'll take advantage of the time to do some of the things that we havent done before. Two of those things were dinner at BOG and also watching wishes from a close up and personal locale(Ive done that but dh has only seen them from Cal Grill and behind the castle, and out side the park). We've also decided to never ever ever ever ever allow friends to disrupt any plans we make.
Thanks for the input !

Probably but it was dinner we wanted :(

Wow! I guess we can assume these "friends" have never been to Disney before?? I would be fuming mad.
Try for lunch or breakfast-I would think there is a lot more availability as the meals don't last nearly as long as dinner.

Keep stalking the dining reservations site and subscribe to the canceled ADR thread for your month. Lots of people sitting on (dare I say hoarding?) multiple BOG ADR'S while they finalize plans.

Very true keep checking

Ditto this. I've managed to score several last-minute ADRs, including two BOG dinners, as people finalize plans the few weeks before their trips.

I was seated about 5 minutes after ADR time....no appetizer, no dessert and it still took me (solo) 45 minutes to eat.

Not without going crazy.

IMO, the BOG dinner food isn't worth the stress this is going to cause. I'd do it for lunch or breakfast so you can see the inside and find dinner elsewhere, but that is just me.

Darn it, I'm in a similar position. Fortunately, I had an 8:25 reservation that I was able to change to 7:50 pm today but it sounds like this will even be cutting it close. I'm taking my 8 year old niece and she wants to meet the beast and it's her first time in the MK so a good view of wishes is a must. I guess I will have to plan on dessert only if we aren't seated in a reasonable amount of time.

I think you will be fine. Check in 15 minutes early. We've eaten BOG dinner 3 times and we've never been seated more than 10 minutes late. Look at the menu online ahead of time and decide which entree (or maybe just a few appetizers?) you want to eat. When they come to take your drink order, order your drink AND your food. Do not order the steak! It takes forever. Let your server know you are trying to make your Wishes FP+. We've always had wonderful servers. If this is the only one you can get, you will be a little rushed, but I think you can make it work!

Ok so I got lucky and another day cropped up today which meant we had to add a day of passes . After reading some of the comments I thought I better grab it . Finally I thought, and proceeded to change every day of our schedule including all our other dinners, and fp's around. Now Im happy. At least I was until the original day in May we wanted for BOG came up with dinner at 5:25pm, which I grabbed, but now I cant get either the wishes fp or 7dmt back. I really hate fp+....lol.
Thanks all for the advice :)
