Southern California Is this do-able without a car?

We are heading to DLR in a couple of weeks and the kids have decided that they want to get some musical thearpy in while we are in the area.

We are staying at the Fairfield, but have not "yet" thought about renting a car.

So...

Wednesday night - DS #2 wants to see a concert at the Orpheum in LA.

Friday night - DS #1 and DDIL- want to see a concert in West Hollywood at the House of Blues

I know that driving (down/up the I5) to the venues is around 45 miles, but is there public transportation that we can catch from Anaheim into downton LA or into West Hollywood? And how is the return trips (I suspect that there is 24 hour bus service).

Well..... After several hours of figuring out the busses and metro, it would mean at least 4 hours on the busses (there and back) for downtown LA and up to 6 hours for west Hollywood. Guess time for plan B rent a car!
