We are trying to figure if the dining plan is worth it for our next trip. So I would ask if the following is correct.

It states that the plan would cost $38 per adult per day so if 3 uo us went for 10 days (2 adults and a 12 yo) then it would cost us $1140, does that sound right.

Also could we do the following in one day (an example)

1. Get 3 Mickey Bar Ice Creams
2. Get any 3 entrees any 3 desserts and 3 sodas at Cosmic Ray's
3. Get any 3 entrees any 3 desserts and 3 bottles of water at LeCelliar

My calculation is that the above would come out to about $125 before tax and tip. If we are on the dining plan we would only pay the $114 rate per day for all the above including the tax and tip.

Thanks for your help, sorry if it is confusing, it is to me as we always were AP holders and went with the dining card.

You could do exactly as you said and more - you could even get an appetizer each or even just 1 or 2 to share with your meal at LeCellier.

DDP is a great deal for many families and if your example is what your family likes to do each day, then it sounds like a good deal for you.

The dining plan is based on the # of nights you are staying and not on the # of days. So if you are staying for 10 nights, then you are correct, the dining plan would cost $1,140. If you are staying for 9 nights, then the dining plan would cost $1,026 and you would be able to use your credits up until midnight of your 10th day there.

Yes, each of you would get a full sit down meal (including appetizer & dessert if offered by the location), any counter service entree including drink & dessert--again if offered by the location, as well as 3 Mickey Ice Cream Bars for each "night" of your package.

The snack credits have expanded beyond just mickey bars, so that should open up even more options.

Also, as long as you aren't at an all you can eat or buffet, you can split meals. For our family I think this will work especially well for CS credits (we will spend all of our TS on buffets since the kids love the characters). We will have 4 adult credits and 2 kids credits. We will probably use two CS credits in the morning for breakfast platters and maybe a snack credit or 2 and then do the same thing at lunch. We tend not to eat huge amounts at one time, so the snack and CS credits will get split into many "mini meals" throughout the day.

My calculation is that the above would come out to about $125 before tax and tip. If we are on the dining plan we would only pay the $114 rate per day for all the above including the tax and tip.
Pretty close... actually $116.97.
