My in-law's have decided to come with us on our April "06 visit to WDW. We are staying at the WL while they are staying at ASM. If we want to go swimming together at one of the resorts (ASM or WL) is that considered "hopping"? I know our kids will want to swim together and don't want anyone getting offended. Do you think this would be ok as we would be "guests" of each other?

Thanks in advance.

yes it is, but I would do it also. If I wanted too. have fun!!!

It is but to alleviate at the problem just check with the desk of your hotel (or theirs) first - most likely you will get the ok to do so!

I didn't put on my asbestos panties so I don't think we will be trying that.

:earseek: I know how "heated" this topic can get so I really hesitated to ask. I wasn't sure about the "guest" rules at the pools (as in having some). Not making yourself one. LOL Yes, we will ask for sure at the desk beforehand.

Thanks again.

Technically, you are not allowed to bring guests to your resort pool. There are signs that say they are for the exclusive use of the guests of that resort. But if you ask the lifeguards, they might allow it. The lifeguards usually have the last say in the matter since they are the ones who know if the pool is crowded or not.

It may depend on how crowded the resort is. If you are going at Easter or Spring Break, it might not be allowed.

If it comes down to that, take all the kids to Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon.

As stated officially it's now allowed. As suggested ask at the desk. I don't think you will have a problem going over to All Star to swim with them, it might not work that way at WL being a smaller pool and themed with a slide, they are more strict due to that so just ask to make sure.

I've never read a report of there being a problem with Disney resort guests getting together to swim together at any of the budget resorts. As long as you're going that way, and not the other way, I'm confident they'll be willing to allow you to do so.

Since you are going in April, a waterpark might work for you. I'd also check with the lifeguards or front desk to see about having your guests swim with you. I hope it works out for you. :flower:

I think it's more "pool hopping" when none of your party is staying at that resort. To be safe I would just ask. We had our Inlaws at the CR with us and they were totally cool with that, they said it was fine.

Good advice. And you'll probably have better luck at the All Stars then WL due to people who try to hop from the MK and FW.

for all your replies. If my DS10 wasn't so uncomfortable around water the water parks would be a good option. He likes the pools, with a life vest, and on his own terms. At summer camp they went to a local water park quite a bit and he just played in the kiddie pool. I'd hate to make him uncomfortable and waste the $$.

Heck, I'm sure no one would even notice if we didn't ask. But just to be sure we will.

I would think as long as someone staying at that particular resort is present, no one would say anything!

Have FUN!!!

I would agree with this.

When we stayed at the Poly my best friend (who lives in central Florida) came to see us for the day. We asked permission from the concierge and life guards and they were very nice and approved her use of the pool. They said that they appreciated the fact that we asked. We had a nice time.

Technically it is pool hopping, but I feel it is ok since somebody is actually staying there.
