Is this board infected with a malware redirect?

I am getting periodically redirected to a malware site. I have checked my computer for any malware or viruses, and have internet security on a really high setting. Chrome. No extensions, plug ins turned off, I have to even approve every cookie. Yet, I am still getting the redirect, but only on this board.

The redirect tries to "warn" you about "outdated" adobe flash.
Are you getting it? (If you are, don't install it!)

Looks like there may be problem with my wireless router :sad2: Did not know these things can get infected...

I am having a problem, too. I use Firefox and I keep getting redirected to a page that Firefox blocks "for my protection". I can't tell what is going on. :confused3

Im not having any of those. I have in the past on previous computers though. My browser was hijacked. Do your kids use your computer? Mids are often easily mislead by ads for free games.

I had that problem a couple of days ago and knew that it was a browser hijacker. I ran a virus scan and it didn't show up on the scan but it never popped up again on my computer.

I was getting it on both IE and Firefox, and it would happen even if I wasn't on the disboards. I think that it may be related to a website that I visited through Swagbucks. There were a couple of downloads that were attempted by their discovery break sites.

If your regular virus protection can't find it, try Spybot. A programmer friend recommended it years ago and I've been using it ever since. It's always been free with an option to donate. Last time I downloaded it the plea to donate was a bit louder but still was free. Hopefully it still is.
Just google spybot.

Try downloading Malwarebytes. It was recommended by our pc maintenance company at work. The download is free thru cnet. The scan will take a little while but the first time I ran it on my home pc I eliminated about 700 malware programs. Now I run it weekly. It will prompt you to buy the paid version but just keep ignoring. my free trial expired two years ago and it still works just fine.

Thanks. I used to run Spybot on my older laptops (back when I did a lot of online rewards), but I never installed it on this one. It took under an hour to locate and destroy 4 malware files. I'm sure they came from Swagbucks.

To clarify... what brand of "Internet Security" are you using? When was it last updated?

I have uptodate versions of Microsoft Security Essentials, Malwarebytes, and ran Kaspersky TDSSKiller. Essentials and TDSSKiller did not find anything at all, Malwarebytes found bits and pieces of some old malware I previously got, which I cleaned out manually (CCleaner, regedit, etc). I am generally OK technically. What was most surprising is that I banned the sites in internet settings on the computer, and they would still load.

I did update my router firmware and settings yesterday, let's see if I get it again.

I've been getting this message too. Only when visiting this board.

It's been happening to me also. Will it only do harm if I click on it?

DO NOT CLICK ON IT. It will intall a bunch of malware on your machine, highjacking the browser to send you ads and who knows what else.

Interesting. Are you using a wireless router? Type 192.168.1.1 in your browser and see if you can get into the setting on it. The only advice for this worm that I found was to turn off remote administration on your router. I would also check DNS settings. Look for something like this " Static DNS 1: " and see if it is populated.

I don't usually have this problem on disboards, but I get a lot of this crap when I visit adult sites (don't judge me, you know you do it to!)

What is a good virus protection for a Mac? I have avast. Will any of the ones ya'll mentioned work too?

If you can't get into the setting, what does that mean and what do you do? Is this where you have to turn off the remote administration on the router? Final question: how do you do that? Thanks.
