Is this accurate? You can add guest at check-in?

We have booked Yacht Club for 9 nights in July for 3 people. The cast member on phone just gave me advice about adding my mom (grandmother) at check in. I mentioned during conversation, that I wasn't sure about adding package/dining as my mom may visit some friends while in Fl and doubt she would want to visit parks as many days, and may only do half the time. I thought each guest had to be on same package, meaning same park pass days and dining. She said not if you add the 3rd guest at check-in. At resort, I could then add her for a certain number of days, ie: My daughter and I will be 9 nights, parks passes and dining whole time, then at resort, we add my mom for half the days when we arrive, or whenever she arrives during our stay. We will be charged a small resort fee and taxes, and whatever days we add for her. Does anyone know if this is accurate? Cast member said there are many families who come and go and not do whole time together. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!

Yes this is accurate. Mom won't get tickets and dining so she'll need to work that out on her own. I believe the deluxe additional adult will be $25 per night.

Agent had said my mom could add less days for tickets and dining than my 14 yr old daughter and I at the resort. This is part that sounded weird. So we pay for her nightly too, even though she is really only 2nd adult in room some nights since just my 14 yr old and me?

Thanks!

No. If she would be the second adult you wouldn't have a nightly charge. The charge is for the 3rd or 4th adult.

She wouldn't get any dining credits or tickets either. The only way to do that is to put her on the package, but then she will get the same amounts of things you get.

It's kind of an all or nothing situation.

That's exactly what I always thought, but after really questioning this agent, she said otherwise and the difference being you can only add the different amount of "package" days for someone onsite at that time. I guess this shows you that even the cast member agents can provide wrong info. We were on the phone a while about numerous things, and she really seemed to know her stuff, so I thought maybe this was something they did when asked at actual resort.

Yeah, it kind of stinks that so many phone CMs give misinformation.

Enjoy your trip! :goodvibes

Thank you for this information. I was not sure how I was going to handle the situation with my husband who will be at a convention while we are at Disney. He will be with us some days and nights, but not all and we have no idea right now which days or nights. It will help us a lot that we will just be able to add him at check in. He has old passes that he will be using and we can just pay for his meals when he can eat with us (on dining plan). Everyone on this board is just the greatest.:thumbsup2
