Is this a "tradeable" pin?

That's not a pin, that's a Jibbtiz, you put them on crocks to decorate them.

No its a pin but its not tradeable (not metal)

Back before pin trading was really "hot" and for a bit afterwards they sold the rubber headed characters pins for 2-4 bucks each. I think they are cute and have a few in my collection

I beg to differ, it is possible they had them before I started trading but I saw those in DL/DCA when we were there just a few weeks ago, they sell them as Jibbitz now.

Depending on the cast member you could probably trade it just fine. Most of them don't care, especially if you find a young CM. Most avid collectors would probably say no though.

Well sometimes you will get pins with that gold clasp style backing. It's the official Disney Pin Trading logo on the back the CM's will look for. Most of the time they don't even look and just stick on their lanyard/pouch.

I'd say no,

That means nothing in some cases. They used to not even have the black rubber mickey backers.

The main criteria to judge whether a pin is tradable or not is that it must be a metal pin that represents a Disney Event, Location, Character or Icon. Some pins from our Operating Participants are also tradable, but must represent the Operating Participant in a way that has aspecific Disneyland®Resort or Walt Disney World®Resort affiliation.

If it's not metal, it's not tradable. I'm sure quite a few CMs would accept it though, just as they accept scrappers (not saying you should trade scrappers though.)

Scrappers are pins that should have been "scrapped" or thrown away because they did not pass quality control. Unfortunately there are individuals who take these pins and sell them, people in the states buy them and then sell them on eBay so you have to be very careful with your pins when buying from eBay.

It doesn't seemt to be a jibbitz because the sticker on the backing says it has a functional sharp poitn. Jibbitz have a flat button like piece most of the time, not a point. I don't recall ever getting a jibbitz with a back, much less a metal one.

Ok, I'm new here so take it easy on me. I have a ton of pins from the late 90's that don't have "mickey head" backs, just plain rubber ones. Does that mean I can't trade these when I go back? All my pins are on their original plastic/velvetey card things and or plastic bags they came in.

No, the new pins have mickey head backs but as long as your pins have the Disney copyright, are not Sedesma, Euro or some other type of pin they are perfectly tradable.

That was one thing I wondered about.......but they are not pins that are sold in the parks nor are they tradable so Jibbitz was the first thing I thought. AND I've seen Jibbitz in the parks like that so I thought maybe it was an old style or something. I know nothing about crocs or Jibbitz really, I don't wear them.

However I will conform rubber pins are not tradeable in Disney parks. I sure some CM somewhere will accept it, eventually. However they should not. Just as they should not accept badges/buttons/earrings, as I have seen too.

I actually do not mind the rubber pins. They are colorful, durable and light weight. I have traded one from a CM lanyard once even, and have a few in my collection.
